tegrated Portfolio Management    IPM no longer does any business under any other name other than Integrated Portfolio Management. Individuals that work for this company do not realize that in fact the company is struggling financially!! This company has bounced many checks to their own employees and continue to do so on a weekly basis. Their controller Angie Torres is Lilliana Shields sister and she "MOVES" money around the bank accounts in order to try to cover things up. If they tell you that they can't accept payments in the mail, they are lying. These employees are trying to earn a monthly bonus each month. Their goal is to get as much out of an individual so that their bonus is higher every month. One thing about these employees (including some managers) is that most of the time they are drunk or to busy getting high in the parking lot. The owner Lilliana Shields pretends to ignore the situation, hence she has lost over half of the management staff in the past month. It is not a good environment to be in at all. This company trains employees on how to collect in an illegal manner. Anyone that has been an employee there knows that Earl Shields is one of the most RACIST individuals that there is. He believes he is above the law and continues to make racist comments on a daily basis. Do not give them any information at all. They cant do anything to you. The most that will happen is that they will send your account back to the original client and it will go to another agency.

August 2008      Integrated Portfolio Management    I can tell you that the Owner Lilliana Shields only cares about how she is going to pay her outrageous mortgage every month! Her former husband is the other owner. Earl Shields would like to advise those individuals to record all calls that are made. They have several law suits against the company. That by the way now operates under Integrated Portfolio Management. They usually will call your friends and neighbors and ask them to deliver a message. This is against FDCPA regulates. They will notate each account as follows so that they do not get into trouble. CALLED NEARBY/VERIFIED DEBTOR INFORMATION. They tell collectors to notate this in this manner, so that when someone does complain they can review the notes and say "WE NEVER DID THAT'. Ask them to hand over the recorded calls to that 3rd party and you will see that it is in fact true. THEY ARE BREAKING THE LAW!

2007     Stanley Weinberg began calling our home one Saturday morning before 9am. As I didn't recognize the number, I didn't answer, but blocked our own phone number ID and called them back. Upon learning their name, we googled them and thankfully discovered your website so we knew what we were up against. They proceeded to call our home at varying times of the day, most early about 8:15 am, for almost 2 months. I recorded the time & date of each call. They never left a message on our machine. Finally today at 4:30pm they called and I was home so answered. Some woman identified herself as calling from a Chicago office - 1st lie - and said "are you (name withheld). I braced myself for further personal inquiries. Instead she began asking questions about a neighbor at a close address to mine! I never admitted my own address, and said I didn't know the person or address she was referring to which was the truth, and told her to stop calling. She replied this was the 1st time she called - 2nd lie - and I told her that I knew exactly who they were and that her office had called numerous times over the last several weeks and that if they didn't stop calling I would register a complaint against them. I wish now that I had said "why are you calling me about someone else when this has nothing to do with me?" but I was so angry at the time I just wanted to get my point across that they better stop calling us and I hung up. Thank you for your website, it was extremely helpful and I hope others will be helped by my experience.

2007    I received a voicemail from a "Sam Preston" telling me he had to get hold of me and that it was very urgent and that if I did not call him back a matter would be decided for me without my input. He made it sound like if I did not call him back immediately I would end up in prison or some other very nasty place! I called them back and this character was not in, but someone did talk to me and tried to get me to pay off an old debt for twice the value of what it last was. They told me they were looking at my credit and knew what I had in my accounts.
After finding this website, I now will not talk to them again. They didn't seem legitimate to begin with, and after reading the other stories about them I am horrified that any company would hire them.

2007    I only spoke briefly with one of the so-called representatives who “had to make a decision” about my situation and me THAT day. The tone of this individual was unprofessional and alarming; I could not give him a definitive answer as I had not idea as to what he was referencing his call to. So, I took an opportunity to research them on line, and glad I did. With a home in escrow and pretty sure about my credit, I assumed they had me confused with a close relative that shares my same name, in the same community. Phone calls continued until I admittedly refused them. Had so-called accusations caused my home to fall out of escrow I was prepared to file a full-fledged lawsuit against Stanley Weinberg and Associates. I am surprised a group of people have not come together and filed a class action suit against them. In a perfect world, no one would have a bad debt, and Stanley Weinberg and Associates would cease in existence. THAT would be a perfect world.

2007    These people have called continuously on my home and cell phone. When I finally spoke to a woman, she told me that even though we had a Chapter 13 bankruptcy dismissed in 1998, that now I owed $6900 to some company that I never heard of. She started asking all kinds of questions about where I work and where my husband works. I got worried that she was asking for more information than I wanted to give and stopped her. I told her that if she sent something to me in writing that I would take it to my attorney.

The letter arrived and I have no idea who this company is. I'm guessing that this is not something that I owe. Should I just ignore the letter? Or should I respond in kind requesting further information?

I paid all of those creditors off in order to get a mortgage 6 years ago. Now all of a sudden someone comes out of the woodwork? What should I do?

2007     Former Employee   I used to work for Stanley Weinberg and associates and this company need to be stopped. They call harassing family members and neighbors for public humiliation .They call 3rd party -- family neighbors employees and anyone that you could possibly be in contact with...they ask for a number on the person in debt or if they can leave there number with you....don’t do it.....also what they do is say that you cant have a payment arrangement or settle out your debt that is untrue what there trying to do is get a commission check always ask for a settlement there going to say they don’t do it at first but they can.....

If the debtor wants to call and stop a payment they’re going to tell you to put a stop payment to the check so that your money could still look good on their numbers...
Its true all companies are in competition and as of right now they’re #1 because of the illegal things they do........

The owner of the company is Earl Shields...the managers are Jessie Sanchez, Vito Blackburn, Sonia, Angie don’t know her last name Earls sister in law a real fat ass, Israel Gaurcidenas, Lorenzo, Boris Roldan, why don’t you call and harass there neighbors and their family members. They sure will do it to you. The systems they use: lexis nexis, Accurint, white pages and super pages and they're located at 800 Springer drive, Lombard il

2007    Late last week, I had a message on my voice mail from a Mr. Burke. He spoke into my voice mail as if he were talking to the person he was trying to reach or her husband. I was appalled. As he said the names (acting like they had actually picked up the phone), he mentioned the name of my husband's ex and her current husband. Obviously they had done some type of cross reference and called us hoping we would be willing third parties. My husband's ex isn't even in this state, nor do we have any dealings with her. I work for a credit card company and realized right away that Mr. Burke was in violation of the FDCPA. He knew this wasn't her phone number and his intent was to cause embarrassment to her by leaving that bizarre message on our voicemail. (of which I have saved). I looked up their number and found this website. Obviously, they have a record of violations. They called again tonight and I let voicemail take the call. No message was left, so since I was armed with the FDCPA regulations in front of me, I called the 1-800. I was treated very rudely (of course, I wasn't all that pleasant either). I told them they needed to remove our number - that the person they were looking for did not live here and I told them I had seen various violations from their firm. The woman told me she needed my number to confirm if I was telling her the truth. Unbelievable! I gave her the number and told her to remove it from their files. She said she would. We will see??? If they call again, they are in violation of FDCPA section 805(B)2, 805(b)3 and 804.3. (804.3 states they may not call a Third Party more than once unless requested to do so. Should their number even show up on our caller ID again, I will contact the Attorney General office and the FTC.

2007    I feel like the biggest idiot after reading all the complaints about this company! A man called me from there, seemed pleasant enough. Gave me a couple options-pay whopping amounts or post-date electronic checks after convincing me to defer mortgage and auto payments. He made up some 999999 check numbers for 2 different dates (yes, I was nervous enough to give him my bank info! I'm sweating just thinking about that, now. It was supposed to be contingent on getting the deferments. Mortgage co. said no because they give you 15 day grace period. That's when I searched and found their name on your site. Now I'm really freaked! I stopped payment on the checks and any future attempts by Stanley Weinberg, etc. I don't even know whose name is on the checks so if not theirs, I'm screwed. Can't cancel the bank acct since it is too late to stop my direct deposit for July 1st. I don't know what to do!

2007    A man from this agency had the nerve to call my neighbor, which he got their information and name off the property appraisal and asked them to put a message in my mail box. I was mortified!!! How can these idiots disclose my personal information to someone who doesn't even know me? Know our neighbors think that we don't pay our bills and they have talked to us since then.

2007    I came home from work today, checked my voice messages and had a message from a very abrupt woman named "Mrs. Werthers". She never once disclosed what company she represented. Just her name, telephone number, and that that I "NEEEEEED to call her back". Very rude. So I call the number back, and someone says "Stanley Weinberg & Associates, how may I direct your call". I ask to be transferred to Mrs. Werthers' extension. Mrs. Werthers' answers the phone, and I proceed to tell her that I'm returning her telephone call. She then huffs and puffs and abruptly tells me to, "HOLD ON!!!" At that point, the line mysteriously disconnected, and I didn't call back. I have no idea what this was all about.  It's about an attempt to separate you from your money.  Hold on.

2007    Stanley Weinberg had contacted me on my cell phone at 5:31 pm Monday May 8, 2007 and had hung up on me. Then they called on my mom's house phone with a recording on it asking for me. My mother hung up on them and told me about it. So I called the number (630-790-4000) back to find out who they were. They asked for my social security number. My mother told me not to give any information then. They wouldn't give me any information until I give them my social security number to them.  My bankruptcy had already been filed before they started harassing me.

2007    i was contacted by Stanley Weinberg and Assoc. the gentleman seemed nice. he kept putting me on hold and said he was talking to the credit card company. Anyway he said that he knew exactly how much we had in our 401k's and that they could take that and he also said they would take legal action. They mentioned taking our house among other things. My boss found this website, but only after I had given out bank info. I rushed to the bank this morning and did a stop payment for that company indefinitely. I would much rather work with Chase directly than with a company that has such a horrible reputation.  (Saw your Texas address - they won't be taking your house...hope you're now recording your calls.)

2007    I received a call from my ex advising me her sister in Michigan had been called and harassed for information by Stanley Weinberg Associates. She told her the caller had not known or could not pronounce the names they were trying to contact and only after repeated attempts was she actually able to determine they were looking for me. I have lived in the same area for 20 years and they were attempting to make contact in an area of the US in which I've never lived. They were apparently very rude and demanding and then abruptly hung up. I have never been subjected to this kind of tactic and my first reaction was to call and leave them my number and to advise them that their calls fit the definition under California Penal Code section 653m; Annoying or harrassing phone calls. Once I find out which company uses their services I am also going to inform that company that while I may have debts they just earned themselves prompt placement at the bottom of my priority list.  Unfortunately, once a debt has reached a collector, your priority list doesn't interest them.  Be careful not to ignore anything in writing...

2007    I talked to this man named OSCAR GOMEZ from Stanley Weinberg and Associates or should we have named him Oscar the grouch! He insisted on the money by telling me to defer my car payment and miss my rent payment. His responses were if other people were getting money we want our money, refused to listen to our situation with our finances, insisting that we have our priorities wrong that I should be paying them instead of house payments, cars, medical bills for our son who has brain damage and epilepsy. We are not interested in personal sagas. i offered to make payments due to this and he basically laughed and called that effortless and I would get nowhere with that and never finish. I realized he wanted a commission because he wanted 1000.00 in 3 days. He was heartless, cold, and any woman who would choose to have children with this man is crazy. He will have to meet with his maker in the end and answer to how he treats people, regardless of his job, there is such a thing as tact!

This site has helped me so much. While I was waiting for a reply from the collection agency I jumped on-line and searched their name...it lead me to this site. Based on entries of other "debtors" I was able to contact the original company to which this debt is owed, Chase. I told Chase that based on reviews and testimonials, I refuse to pay this collection agency any money. They in-turn provided me useful information and I am able to continue to pay Chase directly. I highly recommend that before you pay any money to an agency, contact the company to which you owe money and refuse to do business with the agency they contracted. It worked for me! Thanks!

2007    once again Mike Peterson from Stanley Weinberg & assoc. contacted my work phone number. Again I advised him that I was recording the conversation. He, of course, did not approve of it. He apparently reads Bud's blog YEAH!!! He mentioned that he saw my last comment on here! GOOD MAYBE MORE AGENCIES WILL REALIZE THAT WE ARE NOT GOING TO PUT UP WITH THE HARASSING PHONE CALLS ANYMORE!! I told him I was making payments to Chase directly- and therefore had nothing to say to him. I advised him of "the letter" that I sent today. Then I ended the call. (so far he has tried to be nice- but the point is- he should not be calling me at work)  PS- Hello Mike Peterson ;)

2007    I had Mike Peterson from Stanley Weinberg & assoc. contact me yesterday. He left a pleasant message to give him a call at 800 281 4523. Caller ID showed 630 705 9900. I contacted him a few hours later, and got the answering machine (which told me who it was) I hung up and got on the internet right away. LUCKILY I found your website. I read all of the complaints!! WOW!! I was ready today when he called back. I advised him that I knew what his company was all about! I told him I would handle my affairs with Chase directly. He proceeded to tell me that they no longer wanted to do business with me, and that I would need to handle the debt through him. I then advised him that I was recording the conversation and he was not too fond of that! He told me that he did not approve or agree with the recording (told me twice). I then advised him not to contact me again. I asked him for an address to send a letter stating that fact. He gave me 800 Springer Dr. Lambard, IL 60148. I asked him what about the address in Glen Ellyn, IL?? He stated that the company moved from that address several years ago. I told him thank you and hung up the phone. I will send the letter to the springer and roosevelt addresses just to cover my butt!!

2007    I received my second phone call this week from a Michelle Matley who "needed" me to call her at (630) 705 9900 today. The message was very vague, providing me with absolutely no information with the exception of my name. She had left the same message earlier on this week, and I have become suspicious. Being the type to research things that don't appear right, I stumbled across this web site, and am very thankful that I did. It appears several others have noticed the same activity, and have found it is speculative at best. I personally will also wait until I receive a document in writing in order to further waste my time with this "company". Case closed.

2007    My mother received a call from Josh Hreha. Mr. Hreha said he was trying to get in touch with me but couldn't reach me, and that I needed to contact him as soon as possible. He gave her a number and his extension.

I did a little Google-sleuthing on his phone number before I called him back. The first site I found was this website's customer comments for Stanley Weinberg and Associates. (Kudos to the webmaster) The comments immediately put me on guard for what I might deal with on the phone. I was especially suspicious because my only active debts are a car loan and a student loan. I carry no credit card balance at all.

With my co-worker listening in as a witness, I called Mr. Hreha. Luckily, Mr. Hreha was very nice (imagine that). It turns out that he wasn't looking for me after all, but someone with a similar name (completely different address and different last 4 digits of SSN). So I asked if that wasn't me then how did he get my mother's phone number as a possible relative. He said, "Oh, we just searched by last name and that was one of the names that came up."

I didn't appreciate that my mother would be called in the first place. Debt collectors should not go FISHING for a debtor's contact number. Mr. Hreha obviously had an address for the person he was looking for. Therefore, he should have used it for contacting that person. Plus, he never would say what company he was with or what his company did. I was fully ready to tell them, if he didn't tell me, then I'd consider this a scam and hang up on him.

I hope I never have to deal with this company ever again.

2007    Unbelievable! I have never dealt with such rude people in my experience of debt collection. My plan today is to contact the original client that I owe the debt to and let them know that I plan to pay this debt but after the way I was treated by this company, I refuse to send them any money. I honestly do not care if its a lot more work to find another way to resolve this. I will if it means not dealing with the likes of these bottom-feeders. Its funny that they try to come across as a professional firm and as if they have so much authority. He told me "You have no right to dictate how this is paid." Excuse me?! Its my money. Its my name. Its my credit! I mentioned the FTC to him and he was pissed. The woman I spoke with tried to get vey personal information from me and she freaked out when I told her that it was none of her business. Then she hung up. I am filing a complaint against this company with the FTC. I am contacting the company who sent these people my personal information to harass me. I want them to know that these are not the kind of people they would want representing them. I will find a way to get my point across. I don't take this kind of treatment lightly. No one should. Its people that don't file complaints that keep companies like these in business.

2007    This company called me today looking for a neighbor and asking if I'd leave a note on this person's door. I told them that I did not know the person and they said that they lost touch with the neighbor and wanted to let them know that they were not mad at them and wanted them to return their call.  It sounded fishy so I reverse looked up the phone number and found this agency and site. I suspected that it was a bill collector and I was right. Thank you for providing this service. The collectors name was Chuck Stein.

2007    I just told them that I was gonna contact the Attorney General, they started to back off. Threatened to take our house I've started to make payment to Chase. These guys need to mellow out.

2007    Stanley Weinberg and Associates - Fraudulent check number and money taken out of my account!!!!I authorized a payment in December with a specific check number given to them. They made up a check number and put it through again in February! I'm overdrawn, and collecting NSF fees. I can't close my account until it is positive. I have no money to live off the next week and a half! How do I even work? I hope I can get these guys bad. They are thieves and liars!

2007    This company - oh my goodness is the worst. I called returned a call to Mr. Roger Vicks and he started off by trying to be nice. Then when he stated CHASE, I knew about the debt. Then he became irrate stating he knows where I work, I can transfer him to my payroll department, he has verified that I have assets to repay this debt, etc..... I mean this guy was the most nastiest vulgar person I have ever spoken with in reference to debt collection. I was willing to make a payment arrangement and he did not want to hear that. He wanted to know when I was going to pay the full settlement. Then the next day a Christine Hall call my work and left a message to return her call. When I tried, a Barbara picked up for her and refuse to let me speak to her and then she started, I have your file right here, what are you going to do, oh my goodness these people are the worst ever. Then after I hung up on her, I called back to try to reach Christine Hall again and she answered again. Then she said "Eddie it is the one I left you a message about the b- ach who keeps calling to ask to speak to Christine. I said you just called me a curse word and I am reporting you. She claimed she didn't, however, I know what a b-ach really stands for. Unbelievable Company! They should be totally out of business by now. Thank you for this web site.

2007    I used to work for this company. Do not let them harass you. There is nothing that they can do to your credit...at this point your debt has been charged off. Once you see their # on your caller id, just hang up on them. If you don't have caller id, once you know it's them, hang up on them. There is NOTHING they can do to you legally. Again, your debt has been charged off. After 60 days, if they do not get a payment from you, your debt goes back to the original bank & then gets sent to the next collector. If you really want to pay the bill, wait until the last possible moment before the debt gets sent back...that's when they will bargain. I use to work in "Last Shots" & literally took payments of $1 to keep the debt in our office. That's when they will offer you the best settlement. Hope this helps!

2007    I am so thankful to have found this site and these comments! I have no idea what "debt" I might owe these people, but I have not received any letters of any kind. Today I received a very threatening phone call from them. They stated they were making a decision about me today, and that I had BETTER call them back TODAY! If I owed them money I would pay it, they just have to send me a letter. Now they will get the minimum amount I can send them, if they ever send me a bill.

When I got home from work last Thursday night, there was a missed call on the CallWave from this guy named Mario Gomez. He told me I needed to call him back immediately and that it was very important. He sounded very nice, so I gave the old chap a ring around 10:37p.m. and received an answering service. I left a message very similar to this...

"Yeah, this is [my name], and I got a call from Mario Gomez to call him back over something apparently very important. I just got off work, and I have to work tomorrow night as well... then I'll be out of town for the weekend, and then I have to work Monday, also. So try to get ahold of me when you can. Whatever."

He called the next day - and we totally got into a loud-mouthed argument. If you know me, it really takes a lot to make me yell from being angry. He is, of course, a debt collector. My last one, actually, as everything else is totally paid off. But it's a big bill, so it will take a bit to work it out. Anyway, he's an a-hole.

I know what some of you may be thinking, "You dug your own grave, sexy." And yes, that's true, but he's a total and complete a-hole. What started the yelling between us was when I was trying to explain something and he KEPT trying to interrupt! It was SO annoying. Finally I snapped and I yelled, "CAN I FINISH A SENTENCE, PLEASE?!" Then we yelled at each other for awhile, then we calmed down, he offered me "two deals," and told me I had until Monday at five p.m. to call him back and tell him my decision.

The options were:
1) Pay $1500 down, and pay the rest in monthly payments; OR   2) Settle at $2400

Stumped, I called my mom. She's been in major credit card situations before, so she's an old pro at these types of things. She had me call a debt consolidation place and the guy there told me that I actually had another option that didn't involve paying an insane amount of money up front.

Basically, he said that although they presented these options, if I were to send them a certain amount of money every month at the same time, it wasn't likely they were going to refuse this and send the money back. However, if they did, I was told not to cash the money orders I'd sent and gotten returned, but to hold on to them, so if they did take me to court, I had proof that I was trying to pay back the money I owed.

So this morning, Mario Gomez calls bright and early and wakes me up to find out what I've decided to do with the two options he'd given me three days prior. I tell him that I didn't have family who could pay a lump sum, and that I had called debt consolidator who told me that since I couldn't afford either option I'd been presented, to just send monthly payments.

Mario FLIPPED OUT! It was insane. I think what did it was my yawning and he was trying to be rude to me (he had woken me up, after all), and then went for a wee while talking to him about it. He was yelling about attorneys and some other boring things and then he just HUNG UP on me! That made me so annoyed, I mean, seriously! Here's someone who's a little TOO vested in their work, wouldn't you say?

Why would you get SO incredibly irate at a total stranger enough to scream at them on the phone (and I was a perfect gentleman, I must add) and then abruptly slam it in their ear? It's really unprofessional, I think, and he needs to lighten up because papi's gonna have a heart attack if he's not careful!

Before he hung up, and after telling him of my new monthly-payment plan, and he said, "You can't do that! You don't have a say in how this is going to work! You lost that chance when you didn't pay your bill after so long!" I asked, "So does that mean if I send you $125 in the mail today, you're going to send it back to me?"

"No. [beat] But..." See, whatever man, take some Xannies or something. Chill out a bit.
