August 2008    I received a call from them regarding a payday loan bill that was previously owned by an agency my lawyer has filed a suit against. I tried to tell Omar that I did not owe this and proceeded to give him my attorneys name and told him he will have to validate the debt to my attorney. He went off on me like a crazy person. Said he does not have to contact my attorney or validate anything. That's my job. Said he would see me in court. I told him that he was in violation of the FDCPA for continuing to talk after he was informed I was represented but he just kept ranting about my credit or something. I finally had to hang up on him. I won't see him in court but I will bet I will settle out of court. The best was he told me the call was being recorded for quality purposes!

June 2008    I am a minor and have been receiving calls to my cell-phone for months now from FBCS. The only time I've answered the call was months ago when they first called and can't remember what they called for. It really didn't bother me (ignoring the calls) but now they're calling earlier and more frequently. Obviously, I have no debt and my mother's Cingular account for the cell-phone automatically withdrawals payments (that would be the only reason I could think for this company to call this number). I called about 10-15 mins after they called me recently, stated that I wanted them to stop calling me, that I had no debt, and that I was a minor. The receptionist was rude, said "are you finished", and then said a sarcastic "bye" and hung up. I filed a complain with FTC as well.

2007    I have been receiving calls from FBCS for over a month know. I was pretty surprised the first time they called and informed me that the call was an attempt to collect a debt. Obviously, the first question I asked was who the debt was from. The callers response was "Paragon Way". I then asked who they were affiliated with and was told "cottonwood financial". I quickly opened up my web browser and did a search for Paragon Way and cottonwood financial. I found paragon way pretty quickly and saw it as another collection agency (which I had never heard from). Cottonwood Financial was a little more difficult since there were multiple listings, but I eventually found something that looked familiar; "The Cash Store". Yes, I am one of those unfortunate Americans who took out a payday lone...7 years ago. This payday loan was eventually included in a Chapter 13 filing, however that filing was eventually dismissed. After the call ended, I called Paragon way and asked if they could assist me with information. The agent on the phone informed me that they have no record of my name, my ssn, or the account I was inquiring about. I immediately began wondering this FBCS was a fraudulent company that just had a mailing list.

Last week I received another call from a agent with FBCS, offering me a settlement for 1/2 of the total due (to them, not the original amount). I informed him of the information I received from Paragon Way to which he replied "that's not my problem". I told them to send me history of the account so I could confirm that it is legitimate. After about 15 minutes of arguing, he finally agreed to send something.

Today, I received the settlement offer from FBCS. That's all, no account history. I feel reluctant to pay this, but am about to write a check just to get the calls to stop and get the monkey off my back.

I have lived in Washington State for the past three years, but I lived in Oregon at the time of the payday loan. I have heard that the SOL for a written contract in Oregon is 6 years, and after that no judgment can be sought. However, a collection agency may continue to seek payment as long as they own the debt. Is this information correct? (The SOL applies to your State of residence, not where you incurred the debt.)

2007    I had the misfortune of dealing with this horrible, rude, lying company. They sent me a collection letter from Sprint stating that I had a balance due from 2002! They were going to damage my credit rating by reporting this unpaid bill. I called Sprint and they confirmed three times that my acct was paid in full back in 2002 and this collection agency was a scam and cheating innocent people. When I called FBCS, I spoke with Ms. Massey. I informed her this was an illegal bill and I didn't owe Sprint a penny. I asked to have her mail me a copy of this info in wring as it is MY RIGHT to receive it. This rude and unprofessional person told me "I don't have any rights and she wasn't going to waste her time talking to stupid people like me". I started to reply and she hung up on me!!! I called bac, asked to speak with supervisor. Had the misfortune of dealing with Mr. nercesian and told him how I was just treated. He repeated the same anger and "he wasn't going to help me and yes, it was true, that I have no rights and he didn't care who I was or what Sprint said, and he was going to make sure it huet my credit rating." I told him he was rude, inhumane and I was contacting Better Business Bureau. He said he didn't care because he could mess up my credit!!!! I contacted BBB and the contacted FBCS. You can guess what was said. Mr. Nercesian lied and said "he would NEVER, EVER talk to anyone like that and he has he has EXCELLENT customer service". I am a very honest person. This whole ordeal upset me greatly. I am taking this action legally higher than BBB.

2007    I have recently dealt with this less than reputable company. I had a collection account with Calvary Portfolio, and paid it almost a year ago in full. I pulled my credit report and there it was still on my credit report!!! Not only was it still stating it was open and active, but it appears that it had been sold to FBCS!! When I called Calvary they were kind enough to fax me a letter stating the account had been paid in full, but when I called FBCS they were rude, hung up on me when I asked to speak to a supervisor, they hung up. I called 6 times to deal with this company and I got nowhere. I called Calvary back and he said it had been paid that they shouldn't be on there. Calvary basically sold my account months after it had been paid! But this FBCS company knew who I was but basically said they don't buy accounts that they work for Sprint. Well, my fight with this company is going on. I will now complain to BBB, and have to send out a letter to every credit reporting agency known to man. I hope you don't have to deal with these people they truly are the devil incarnate!

2007    A rep called my wife and completely disclosed the all information about the debt and continued to make negative comments about my character. I wasn't married to my wife at the time. As a matter of fact, my wife never identified herself as being my wife. I called the company back and spoke to the rep and told him never to call that number or my wife again and here is my number. I told him I would look into getting a loan to pay for it. 2 hrs later they called my wife again (hmm harassment, they already were instructed not to call her and had my contact information). So again I called the rep back and restated the same statement again... of do not call that number or my wife. My next favorite part they put on the asst supervisor. I asked them if the they are considered federal and his statement was made to the affect of "anything over $9,000 dollars becomes federal." So I asked again does that make you federal and he said yeah. They went on to attempt to intimidate me by trying to force me to give money now and saying that they are federal.

The following day I called them back and figured I'd be polite and update them on the status of loans we are looking at. I had asked the rep and now the floor supervisor what happens if I don't get a loan and can't pay off in full. Can we set up a payment plan? They proceeded to tell me we will need 30% and if you can't do that I don't want to speak of what we will have to do to you. HELLO BIG THREAT! Honestly I'm not sure if that is considered to be physical, but I felt it was.

Oh and my favorite part now is that they are now outside of the initial 5 day law of having to mail out a letter to me as a follow up. I have called FTC about them already and have an investigation going on with them through FTC.

2007    I began paying this agency the amount agreed and suddenly I started getting calls from another rep who says I need to pay more, this is not enough, she is in charge of my account now, then just before she hung up on me the first time, she makes sure to mention lawsuit. So I called back and she was so rude, then proceeded to hang up on me again. I talked to her "Floor Manager" to see about getting my original rep back but he too was extremely rude and "terminated the call" but not before he insisted on my bank account info. When I wouldn't provide it he insisted I send 4 post dated checks. Should I keep sending what was originally agreed upon? These people are the most unprofessional, uneducated-by the sound of our conversations, people I've ever dealt with.

2007    This is indeed a very bad business. They have been calling my home for several months now claiming that I owe a rather large balance to a bank that I never heard of. Every time they call, I ask for an itemized bill for the charges. I have never seen an itemized statement from the bank in question or from Federal Bond. Other than being called an out and out liar, this morning they called me a (D***) idiot. After finding this site in a search for their company, I can see that sending them a letter of non communication is not going to work. It's three years after the statute in my state so maybe they will quit calling. Any fresh ideas?

2007    This Company is a SCAM   I worked for Federal Bond and Collection Services aka FBCS for over a year. They are professional liars they will say anything to get your money. The company KNOWINGLY breaks the FDCPA every day. EVERY employee is on some kind of illegal substance. They hire people fresh out of prison regardless of their crime. Employees have been caught committing credit card fraud with consumers credit cards, when these people are caught they will be fired for a few months and brought back. Every person in there goes by a "dummy name" which is completely made up.   Not only do they rip off consumers they rip off their own employees! Every day you go to work they change rules and then change them back within the hour. "Joe Senior" mentioned in a previous article is the owner, who is never there. They place people in managerial positions who have NO SKILLS AT ALL! The company is run by money hungry low lifes! This place is a circus to work in.

2007    You might want to check the Texas SOS site again. They are listed and have an active bond status.

2007    This collection agency tried to collect on a debt over 5 years old. Thanks to Mr Hibbs I have learned a lot about Debt collectors. The Texas Sec of State's office website has a new link to see if a collector has filed for Bond as required by law. After showing the collector Mrs Hayes the web site and explaining she was violating Texas law, she transferred me to a manager ( Bryant Earl) who was not very bright. I told him not to contact me until his employer filed for the required surety bond. So lets see how stupid they are? Maybe they can move up on your list!!

2007    I rec'd a call from this place. The guy was a jerk until I told him I was recording the call, and that the debt was disputed. I ask for their address at least three times while he was being rude, and he refused over and over. Stating " I will just mark this account as refusal to pay, and you'll get a judgement against you". What do these people think? I know Damn well there will be no judgement with out a summons, and a summons I will answer and appear for. He told me I had recieved letters for years from them, and I had never even heard of them till I answered this call. When I asked questions, he stumbled and couldn't answer, his response to everything was " you owe me and you will pay, oh Ok your looking for a way out, just pay me" What the Hell? He never even told me who or what he was calling about. When I requested address to get more info, he refused, only wanted payment. Please tell me people don't pay bozo's like this without something written telling them what they are paying.  Ok, so I found the address and sent a request via writing for info, and no contact until they provide it. Let's see if they can read....
