July 2008 I think this company is bogus. My dad received a bill about 2 weeks ago demanding payment for a directtv bill for $80 saying that all attempts to get him to pay had been futile. First of all, that $80 was for THAT MONTH'S BILL, second of all, how could all efforts to contact him be futile? They had never sent him anything before that and they HAVE HIS TELEPHONE NUMBER, yet they hadn't called even once. My dad called DirecTV and they said that they had not sent it to collections. I PERSONALLY PAID THE BILL on July 10, and a week and a half later I received another letter from them dated July 11, this letter even more rude than the first promising that they were going to basically continue to send these letters until he paid. Now I paid the bill were it would post to his account the same day, and I paid it to DirecTV. I called the number on the letter they sent me to inform them the bill had been paid and to let them have it. Well the number was NOT A WORKING NUMBER, So I googled it. First of all they put a p.o box address on the letter, yet the only business in that area gave a street address. I figured that maybe they only wanted correspondence at the p.o. box so I let that slide. Then I got the phone number off and called it. It just said you have called during non business hours and hung up. Weird. So then I looked at the envelope to be sure that I was reading it right and it says that it was from Southgate, mi. I tried to Google collecttechsystems, inc in Southgate, mi. But you guessed it, there wasn't one. So then I happened to notice on the same Google page a response for a collecttechsystem, inc in ca. So I pulled it up and I quickly noticed that the number listed there began the same way as the one on the letter, but this number was a little bit different so I called it. Yet again, NOT A WORKING NUMBER. I don't know if collecttechsystems, inc is a real collection agency or not, but I am going to look farther into it, because if it is a legit business, there has to be something illegal
2007 I believe that the Allied Int and Collectech are related (in response to a comment from Aug 06).I have had dealings with Allied (a Mr.Kent) - very ruthless. I see he is the head of Collectech. I have an inquiry on my CR from Collectech in Florida but have yet to hear anything from them.
2007 When checking TC, I noticed a hard pull on my credit report. The name was Allied Int. There was no contact info provided. I have since matched up an inquiry on the same date/same CRA to Collectech Systems, Inc., 3111 S. Dixie Hwy, Ste. 101, West Palm Beach, FL 3405-1520; (561) 684-2213. To your knowledge, are these two companies related?
2007 After Sprint/Nextel charged me $150 for end my 5 years of service with them, I called them to remind them that I had satisfied my service agreement with them. They still turned my account over to these idiots. They called every single day. And even after I called Sprint and was assured that the unwarranted debt was taken care of, Collectjerk systems called yet again. This time I spoke to a "manager" whose parents were creative by giving her the name, Charlotte Charlotte. WHATEVER! She could care less that I had spoken to Sprint and was told that the debt had been taken care of! I was thinking of using Nextel for a new business that I started. I will never use Sprint or Nextel again. Any company who uses these jerks for collections should be avoided! There are others "push to talk" companies out there.
