September 2008 Midwest Litigation Consultants . "Richard Todd" Investigator called and threatened my husband with a felony charge. I googled the # to find out more info on the company and found this. We are in the process of filing bankruptcy so I called to tell him that and first for Linda I told her gave her the case # and told her we had a lawyer and I also contacted our local authorities along with the FBI secret service Ohio state attorney/general and she said well we are still in business and hung up. Pissed I called back repeatedly for about 5 minutes with no answer and finally Richard Todd answered told him the same thing and he told me he would put the paper work in right away to have my husband picked up before we could even file bankruptcy. I tried to tell him we did that process already and he kept saying thank you have a nice day and hung up on me. What a scam!! They don't even have the common courtesy to talk and listen to what I had to say. If they are a "real" company they shouldn't be they are rude and very unprofessional
August 2008 Midwest Litigation Consultants Columbus OHIO I got a call tonight from this place called Midwest Litigation Consultants stating that I was being sued by Fifth Third Bank. Of course this freaked me out because I have no accounts with them and since I work for the State of Ohio, had concerns that my identity might have been stolen. The person I spoke with told me I was being sued and that I owed Fifth Third Bank $414 and asked me if I wanted to pay that amount. I told him that I have no accounts with them and that I would be contacting Fifth Third Bank. He said I was going to get a supeona to court within a few days and that I would probably have to pay around $2000 in court costs. I called Fifth Third Bank and talked to a supervisor and the collections department. They stated that they have no record of this account on me and that they were not suing me and this call was a scam. I am very concerned because they gentleman I spoke with had my SS# I did not give it to him, he read it to me and repeated my address. This is very very scary. The number that they called me from on the called ID is 614-754-6730 and the number that they left on my message to call them at was 614-754-6728 I am going to call the Attorney General office tomorrow and file a complaint and see what needs to be done.
August 2008 888-990-8100 / 716-204-4022 this company, with a very urgent and concerned sounding representative calling, said she was calling in reference to my son regarding and very important and pending matter and that it was imperative that i contact her immediately. i don't know how she/they obtained my son's name, but i was skeptical so then googled them, finding out all i needed to know at budhibbs.com. beware of this company, thank you bud Hibbs.
August 2008 Figured that i would give you an update on my legal battle with B&M. I was unable to afford a lawyer so had no choice but to represent myself pro se. Utilizing your site's suggestions as well as a few others I was able to give response's to the paperwork that Bronson & Migliaccio sent. I requested debt validation which they never responded to and ended up in front of an arbitrator on July 22nd. I angered the local lawyer so much that he ended up storming out of the arbitrators office at the end because all he brought with him was eight different but sequential credit card statements showing only one purchase of less then $10.00 and the rest was all fee's, late charges, and over limit charges that the arbitrator would not accept. When lawyer brought up the Exhibit "A" a computer generated report I stated give me 5 minutes in front of a computer and i could make something that looked more realistic, he got angry and asked if i thought it was a joke. Whenever he tried to bring up anything about the statements, I continually stated, I'm sorry but unfortunately this is the first time I am seeing any of this paperwork, due to me not being supplied with any validation of the debt. When I stated that i requested validation the arbitrator asked me what i expected to receive and i told him I wanted to see something with my signature on it stating that I was legally bound to the debt, such as receipts, or copy of original contract. The plaintiffs local rent-a-lawyer stated i should have requested that during discovery and it was too late now. I had proof, return receipt, of the validation letter being signed for two days after me being served and i also had in my notice to admit a month later, that was accepted and sent by the courts, a statement that the debt was being disputed and i my request had yet to be honored.
Bronson & Migliaccio tried to intimidate, harass, and threaten me verbally that they were going to bring this to court and that they would prevail yet the judgment the arbitrator found was in the defendants favor, Mine.
You should join the forum at www.arbitrationjustice.com and let consumers know this can be beaten.
August 2008
I
have had many heated exchanges with them. The debts are mine
and I owe them, but I don't have the money due to long-term
unemployment. The rent and utilities are barely being met by
income from other members of the household. As it is
sometimes I have to borrow money right now to meet these
basic needs. I keep explaining this to them and it doesn't
seem to make any difference to them.
Anyway, today they told me that they are going to
"recommend" for a "judgment" against me. And told me I had
24 hours to call someone that I would call "if, G-d forbid,
you were arrested and in jail, who would you call for bail?"
Because "maybe you can call that person to get you out of a
judgment." Anyway, I agreed to try some people and get back
to them before the deadline was up.
After making several calls to friends I know to no avail,
because I can't afford a lawyer (because if I could I would
have either filed for bankruptcy or paid off the debt by
now!), I just started doing my own detective work by
searching for the term "Bronson & Migliaccio," and guess
which website besides Bronson's own was at the top of the
list! After what I have read from here and other sites, even
if I had all the money and could pay them right now, I don't
have any reason to trust them with one dime of it! (Not to
mention how they treat their workers, dreadful!)
I also went to Bronson's website (http://BronsonLaw.net/)
and looked where they are licensed to practice law, and they
didn't list my state. But then I made the mistake of
figuring, if they *really* are a law firm as they claim,
then there should be no harm in contacting their central
office and asking what states their attorneys are licensed
to pratice law in. I was transferred to a rather rude man
who instead of answering my question asked me aggressively
who I was and what was the purpose of my call. I hung up.
About ten minutes later when I was on the phone with my
state's Attorney General's office asking what the procedure
was for filing a complaint, the call waiting rang. I was
done with the other call, so I clicked on the line and it
was THE SAME SCUMBAG I WAS TALKING TO BEFORE WHEN I CALLED
BRONSON!!! He asked, "Is this [my name]?!" I said, "Yes."
Then he interrogated, "Let me make sure I have the right [my
name]. Does your social end in [my last 4]." I said, "Yes."
He huffed, "Well, you just called, and, yes, we have lawyers
licensed to practice in [my state]. Now, what was the
purpose of your inquiry today?" I told it to him straight:
"I just found out a *lot* of interesting information about
you on the Internet and I'm not communicating with you any
further. Goodbye." And I hung up.
Now, if this behavior doesn't confirm the other statements
made here on this website and on a number of others about
Bronson & Migliaccio, I don't know what does.
Yours Sincerely,
Mr. "Forgive me for being in debt. Shall I go and sell my
body parts now to pay off my debt?" Debtor
July 2008 I don't think anyone has touched on the subject yet of them letting drunk managers run their office. yep, that's right the former supervisor was drunk at work for at least 3 days that was made known and it was even brought to the attention of the lawyer Rory Callahan "compliance officer" and nothing was done! crazy place
July 2008 now the b&m assholes have moved to not using the time clock to punch you in but using the time you first make a phone call. Now any experienced collector/legal collector knows that you don't jump on the phone right when you walk in the door. when your manager can confirm that you were there and working, regardless if your computer doesn't work or your called to a meeting before your shift. i have been shorted so many hours because of this. when the time clock fails, bc its sucks and never works, they go by the "tap it" report. that's the report that shows any and all calls and what time they were made. its so shady. is this even legal? I remember when consumer comments outweighed employee complaints.
July 2008 Ha ha. Where to start? The ongoing sexual harassment with the Ohio office, the bouncing payroll checks and the check cashing places holding employees checks wanting them to repay the check cashers when its the employers fault, the hostile work environment where they yell at you non stop, or last but not least, the discrimination and affairs that occur. The manager in Ohio now has had his share of rewarding himself for a job well done--not! The admin assistant Christa Nash, is now salaried thanks to her boyfriend Luke. David Runfola has walked out on the company now that Nash is salaried. Admin Nash has also applied for David's job! They have now demoted people and cut their pay in efforts to get them to quit. Everyday they yell at you to get on the phone and you can’t even look outside of your cubicle! This place is sick and there are many many more issues and now seems to be moving down to the Florida office. The fl office is now under the CSGA client where they used to do collect America business. CSGA alone is terrible and now brad Wagner is the gm of it all.
July 2008 PLEASE alert your readers that these slime balls are stealing money from social security accounts when they know that is all the income they have. B&M are aware of it and condone the practice. They disregard the notice when told the money is exempt, they just don't care. What scum! They don't care what pain they inflict on seniors all they want is their money. B&M has to be one the worst in Buffalo and this includes their CSGA operations. Warn your readers to notify their banks if they receive any notice from B&M or CSGA because they will take their social security money. Keep up your good work.
May 2008 OK this is the complete low down on this ***** ** ***** ** **** ******* and that's being nice to say the least... I've been there long enough to know that this is the worst place to work .. they promise the world then **** * over saying "we never said that" they don't have proof of anything they say or do -IE-rule changes... - ya what's wrong with the picture when your employer cannot pay you on pay day cause the payroll account is in the negative by thousands they short your checks to begin with and say it was your fault-
They are now a mandatory company policy of 37 or less hours a week /employer. They dictate your schedule- oh ya that means if you have family you can go **** ********* that's their view. oh and Bonus -ha ha what's that they now take your bonus away for any bounced checks- not only do they make it so unreachable to achieve. they hide everything. steal accounts to give to their friends they hire that break every FDCPA law imaginable.....oh should I mention they change dates on checks to run them early and delete note lines so you can keep calling disputed or closed accounts or feed that account... again to their friends......oh should i mention the short settlements that they do purposely to take out of the collectors pay chks so they can pocket it...oh ya the funny thing Jay Conlons little brother Christopher Conlon, oh janitor that turned manager after a couple months that now gets fed accounts...what's up with that ****? - family should not work under a general manager .they are both scum and Brad Wagner lets not go there the one that runs and locks his door all day cause he can't handle the employees and runs from everything and every one -GROW UP and not hide behind a door or a shady **** ** company - oh ya he gets paid to keep his mouth shut......oh the best part the rules that change everyday - the micro management - hello we are all experienced collectors - well most of us are at least - leave us the **** alone !!! - well this place is a drugged up underpaid *****paper glorified babysitting job...u would really have to be ***** outta your mind the whole day you work through to make it through the day. OH AND THE BIGGEST THING NO ONE ON THE MANAGEMENT STAFF IS EVER "ON THE SAME PAGE"- so if you work there have fun asking the same thing at least 5 times a day and expect no ANSWER!!!! (But do you like it there?)
May 2008 I AM A FORMER EMPLOYEE OF LOBM "Law Offices of Bronson & Migliaccio" THIS IS THE WORST AGENCY YOU CAN EVER BE APART OF THEY DO NOTHING BUT PROMISE YOU THE WORLD THEN SH$T IN YOUR HAND!!!! ESPECIALLY JAY CONLIN AND BRAD WAGNER THEY ARE NOTHING BUT OVER PAID A$$HOLES WHO KNOW NOTHING ABOUT CUSTOMER SERVICE OR HOW TO TREAT THERE EMPLOYEES!! BEWARE DO NOT WORK THERE!!
April
2008 Watch out! They are relentless. My
husband started getting calls from them on an account that
was in dispute. They called over and over again demanding
full payment. He tried to explain the account was in
dispute, but they got nasty and threatened to tie him up in
court and make him pay 3x what the original debt was. They
called my daughter's grade school and left a message and my
brother. Both times they stated they were a law firm and it
was important that my husband call back immediately. Then
they made the mistake of calling me. Fortunately, I am
well-versed in the FDCPA laws and was able to quote them
verbatim. When they continued to call-I filed complaints
with FTC, NY Bar Association, My attorney general, NY's
attorney general and The Association of Credit and
Collection Professionals (of which they are registered
members). Haven't heard from them since!
Arm yourself with knowledge! Know FDCPA laws and don't let
them harass you into paying something you do not owe!
2007 I used to work for this crooked company, they short every employees paycheck and bonus check and if they can't take care of their own they can't take care of you and it takes them 205 days to fix your check and Brad the Pill Head Wagner avoids you so you don't get your money. Brad "Shorty" Wagner makes 4200,000 per year and drives a company Lexus SUV and he is the general manager and he cannot collect a dime and his buddy Jay Conlon are a little fruity. They are scam artists and I would not trust them with any checking info or credit card by phone, only mail in payments, their whole company left including managers, HR dept, Legal Assistants and in house attorneys, if the in house attorney left a law firm what does that tell you?
They are the worst place to work and run the agency like a prison camp. In my 15 years of collecting this is by far the most crooked and scamming place to work for. If you owe them money and don't have a mortgage or open money they can't do anything to you. If you do pay make them give you a confirmation letter, cause they will take your money. All they want are their bonus checks, they will run your check early just to hit their goal so send in payments, money orders if possible, and don't believe them about being sued only 5% of the people actually do cause they have open bank accounts, so take you money out your bank so they can't touch it and get the mortgage out your name. 90% of the collectors are on some kind of drugs, especially pain killers.
2007 I had to deal with these dipsh*ts from a 4 year old charge off. Marsha Youngblood, who sounds like a New York crack whore after smoking 15 packs of cigarettes, contacted me and broke about every Collection law in the book. My advice...check if they are licensed in your state. If they are not in your state, they can't and won't do sh*t. It has been over a year and I was obnoxious as hell to them. If they were going to go to court with anyone, it would have been me. Just wait for these idiots to break the law in their collection practices. It will happen. Oh...and tell Mawshaaa Yonnngblood I said "hi".
2007 This is just not a very nice company to deal with. I have had very bad experiences with them and when I need to speak to a manager it just gets worse. These guys think they can bully people around. I urge everybody who wants to file a complaint to visit www.courts.state.ny.us and then you will file your complaint with the Eighth Judicial District. Great job Budd on keeping these bottom feeders honest.
2007 I FIND IT HARD TO BELIEVE THAT A THIRD PARTY COLLECTION OUTFIT WOULD ONLY LOOSE TWO COLLECTORS IN TWO MONTHS. THE BOTTOM LINE IS THIS OFFICE IS IN TURMOIL FROM MANAGEMENT DOWN TO THE COLLECTORS. THEY HAVE BROUGHT IN A MANAGER FROM THE BUFFALO OFFICE TO REPLACE THE MANAGER THAT WAS RECRUITED IN DECEMBER OF 2006. THE NEW MANAGER DAVID R HAS COLLECTORS ON THE BRINK OF BREAKING THE LAW. THINGS ARE SO CONFUSED THAT MONTHS AFTER THE OHIO OFFICE WAS OPENED BRONSON & MIGLIACCIO WAS SUED ALONG WITH OFFICE ATTORNEY RORY CALLAHAN. IT SEEMS ATTORNEY CALLAHAN SUED SOMEBODY FOR COURT COSTS AND IN OHIO THAT IS NOT ALLOWED. NOW IF THE ATTORNEY CANNOT FOLLOW THE LETTER OF THE LAW HOW CAN WE EXPECT THE MANAGER AND THE COLLECTORS TO DO THE SAME. THE OFFICE WORKS ACCOUNTS THAT HAVE NOT BEEN OFFICIALLY APPROVED FOR SUIT BY THE ATTORNEY HOWEVER DAVID R SEEMS CONTENT TO HAVE THE COLLECTORS TELL THE CONSUMERS THEY ARE GOING TO BE SUED. HOW IS THIS LEGAL?? WHEN YOU BRING A LOUD MOUTH FROM NCO OF ALL PLACES TO RUN THE OFFICE YOU CAN ONLY EXPECT TROUBLE.
2007 I work at the Ohio office. The past two comments are the only two people the office has lost in many months. The office manager is fair but tough. He know collections and he know how to do it by being compliant. These past employees have opinions that are in the minority. Bronson & Miliaccio is a good place to work and the owner is a great guy who visits the sick and lets us hold puppies while we make collection calls. He is all seeing and all knowing and when he sneezes, we all see all the colors of the rainbow. There are bowls of free Skittles and car keys at the front door. (Sorry, we had to edit that because it didn't have the required email address. If you make a good point, don't be afraid of who you are. We don't publish anyone's email, good or bad.)
2007 As a former employee of the Ohio office I can agree with every comment the most recent employee posted on this site. The office had great opportunity when it was first started. We had a reliable manager and dedicated staff. After a few short months the company loud mouth came in from the Buffalo office to take over the day to day operations of this office. In the time period he has been here, the office stopped increasing revenues, stopped expanding the staff and stops at no expense to push collectors to make horrible decisions when dealing with consumers on the phone. He lacks people skills at every level and borders on harassing... It is a shame that in an industry that has such a bad rap a company would oust a manager who had morals for a manager who does not.
2007 Collector "Lisa" of Bronson & Migliaccio called a family member, who told her he was not responsible for or had knowledge of his family's debts. She discussed the debt with him, with threats of a lawsuit, finally threatening to sue HIM for a debt they have bought from Citifinancial. When called, she suggested that she had called several people about the debt, while they had full location information. We assume that others have been just too uncomfortable to tell us that they had been called and told about us, and possibly threatened with a lawsuit as well. Thanks for this site that lets us know how the various disgusting debt buyers operate and what their next move will be.
2007 I used to work for this so called
"Firm". Nothing but a collection agency sweat shop. They
have the same issues in the NEW Ohio office as the Buffalo
office.
Managers flirting, feeding accounts to who they want to.
Bigger the chest, more paying files in your workload. They
even allow some collectors to work while intoxicated...too
much is ignored in this place.
Funny thing is, they have to move managers from Buffalo to
run this place, and they cannot keep Managers or Collectors.
The collectors there now hate their job on a daily basis but
stay for the paycheck because they have to start people at a
high salary to pull them in. Manager Dave, you know who you
are...you need to take some classes on people skills!
They also have the worst Attorneys I have ever dealt with
they are very unknowledgeable about "Legal Collections"
I can say that I never witnessed any FDCPA violations, but
that doesn’t mean much. When managers actually talk to
debtors on their personal cell phones, who knows what is
said.
2007 I am being sued by CSGA, LLC for an old Citibank balance. It's been several years since I received a statement (I've moved several times and couldn't afford to make payments) but the last time I did, I think the outstanding blnc was around $2K - 3K. They are suing me for over $6800. After having my car repo'd a couple of years ago and other financial troubles, I returned to school. I am now a full time student, recently became a single mom, and have ZERO INCOME. I don't know what they think they have to gain by taking me to court, but I guess we'll see. I am going to respond on Monday to the civil court clerk and pay the filing fee. Guess the game is on!
2007 Over the last few years I have been receiving horrible phone calls from collection agencies. The first of this year I believe it was I got my first phone call from Bronson & Migliaccio. I have been harassed by them as well. I have read through a lot of research NOT to pay anything unless I could pay it all at once. And of course I do not have that kind of money. They have said numerous i times that they will be filing it with in the court within the week if I do not pay. Well about once a month they call and say that, so I figured that there was nothing that they could or really would do. Today I received a certified letter from my county court. It was a summons saying that they are taking me to court. I have no idea what to do with this, I have no money, they want nearly $10,000 from me. If anyone has any advice on what to do please help me! I really do not want to go to court, I can't even afford a lawyer. You didn't leave a way to contact you.
2007 I noticed at the top of your information line for this bottom dweller that there is no web address. I have one from a letter that I just received from Mr. Melvin. It is bhosto@hosto.com. This came right from the top of his letterhead to me threatening court action for a debt that I have already been making payments on for over a year, (that they seem to not show on any of the records that they submitted to the courts). I am more than happy to pass on any information that will make their life just as "pleasant" as they are trying to make mine :) It's appreciated. Even if it were a fresh package of cheddar, Melvin wouldn't be the sharpest in the box...
2007 Received several letters from Law Office of Bronson & Migliaccio regarding a debt that has been purchased from several debt collectors, the issue id I have paid over $1500 dollars to the other debt collectors, but Bronson & Migliaccio doesn't seem to have any record fo any payments. I have requested 5 times information on the original debt. All the can provide is the original monthly statement of the original debtor with no payment history. I will not give any personal information. I have continued to dispute the amount to no avail.
2007 I am a former employee of the "law firm" (as they call it) of Bronson and Migliaccio. I would like to express how appalled i was as a collector there, and how unfair it actually was. First of all.. family members and friends of managers and owners were clearly receiving the so called "good accounts" that paid... and were allowed to basically say anything. On the other end , regular employees without any "inside connections" were basically what we call "sausage grinders" or people who basically just generate a lot of calls and messages with a lower percentage of accounts that pay. Managers were constantly on your case making sure you made enough calls and they had meetings every hour to holler at employees. They would tell you to break the law and ways to bend the law but if you got monitored, which is uncommon actually, or got a complaint they would make it seem like its your fault. managers where often seen flirting with girls and threes many rumors of them sleeping with them, and feeding them better accounts . It was very corrupted there. The bonus structure was not lucrative at all, and they wouldn't let you stay too long if you weren't aggressive and breaking laws. i guess that's how they make their money. Anyways, i quit because i couldn't be in that environment.. and i am disgusted by their organization.
2007 After receiving numerous calls on a debt that became delinquent 6 years ago with Citibank, my husband was served a summons of a lawsuit filed by Bronson and Migliaccio. We can't afford this which is what made us chuckle. They're suing the wrong people if they are looking for money. Anyway, the kicker is they are suing for the original amount of $3314.02 with interest. Well, the interest rate is 1198.49 percent per year from 5/2003 (date of charge off). No that is not a typo - they are charging 1200 percent interest over the past four years!!!!! They actually put that in the lawsuit. Ridiculous. Any advice on what to do next? Thanks! Would hate to see these guys win! Yes - contact a consumer attorney via www.naca.net Don't let them get a default judgment. Make them prove everything they claim.
2007 B & M froze our joint account my personal account. They refuse to provide any information (verification, etc). I told them I would pay the amount but they would have to fax me the release papers for my bank. It has been five days and they have not faxed anything yet. They want consumers to pay by credit card so that they can add additional fees. Every time I contact them the quote a different monetary amount. HELP!!!
2007 I have been contacted by this so-called company several times over the past 6 months and they have called everyone related to me to try to settle this debt. It is about $3,000 from a bank one credit card that has been charged off. The last payment of $100 was made about 2 years ago. They want me to pay as much as I can today and then monthly installments. I have repeatedly told them to send me a letterhead or something to let me know that this is legitimate and they said all payment are paid over the phone. I finally told the representative that I didn't have the money and would not pay for something I was so unsure of. They haven't called in a few weeks. What is happening and what should I do next?
2007 Father-in-law was continuously contacted by this office and after numerous attempts he called me with their number. I contacted them and they told me they were a lawyers office about to send the debt to court but would be willing to settle. She claimed they had sent me two letters but I never received any letters. I started to freak a little and know that I owed the money I went ahead and made two payment plans with my account information. I got a little concerned with the letter they claimed to have sent me so I looked them up and came to Bud Hibbs website. There to my shock was all the information. I have put a stop payment on the checks. Have sent the the letter in the sample here and will pay the credit card directly.
2007 I just sent a certified letter to Bronson & Migliaccio last week. I received notice that their primary address is not in Purchase NY anymore. They are now located in Ozone Park NY, 11417. I haven't yet received my signature card. I found out through the USPS tracking number.
2007 I'm glad I found this site before I answered any calls from these people. I never received any letters from them only calls leaving a message to call them about an important business matter or that I can have my Lawyer call them. I have thought about talking to them but I have yet to receive anything in the mail from them. Thanks.
2007 I AM THANKFUL, THAT I FOUND THIS SITE--I HAVE RECEIVED A LETTER FROM ABOVE ATTORNEY, REGARDING A CITI-BANK ACCOUNT--I ORIGINALLY DISPUTED THIS ACCOUNT W/THE CREDIT BUREAUS, I WAS THEN SENT NOTIFICATION, WHICH I KEPT--SHOWING, CITI-BANK REMOVED FROM MY CREDIT REPORT,,2 MONTHS LETTER IT;S PLACED BACK ON THE REPORT, AND NOW I HAVE RECEIVED THIS LETTER FROM THIS FIRM Bronson & migliaacio,I AM SO HAPPY TO HAVE READ AND FOUND OUT AS MUCH INFO ON THESE FAKES THANK-YOU SO MUCH MR. BUD--I WILL BE READING MORE, FROM OTHER'S EXPERIENCES, ON HANDLING WHAT THEY TRY TO DISH, TO ME THANKS MUCH--GOD BLESS
2007 This debt collector is calling my house to collect a debt from someone that doesn't live here. I told "Lisa" they were calling the wrong person, she said they wouldn't call again. Two days later a "lawyer" calling himself Capisio called again. When I told him he had the wrong telephone number he hung up on me. I was never given the chance to tell him not to call again.
2007 Does anyone know who is operating or
managing members for BRONSON & MIGLIACCIO LLP
961 N WEIGEL AVE ELMHURST, IL 60126-1058
2007 I have received a few calls from some scumbag representing this firm. Aside from appearing to be bare literate and only slightly capable of speaking English as their native tongue, they have presented themselves exactly as you describe. I am sending them a cease and desist notice today.

This week's Buffalo News Job Finder cover story features the
firm of Bronson & Migliaccio. I read the article to help
myself understand the mind set of these attorneys who
collect debt. This was published today 2/20/07. It's a good
read if you would like to hear how these types of firms
operate and what their philosophy is. Ironically, I came to
the Bud Hibbs website today an lo and behold, this firm just
made the list of your Top Ten Agencies to Avoid for the
first time! Congrats to all.............read it; information
is power!
I would just like to comment on the Jan 26th posting from a former employee. First off, that was your choice to work for a shady company that most likely was paying you minimum wage. Also, that's great that your score is a 750, now why don't you work on your grammar since you can't spell properly or use the correct form of words. For example; you wrote theres when it should have been theirs. I think you need to use spell check before you decide to defend a collection company. Maybe you should use your high FICO score and get a real job. Thank you for your time.
2007 This was the first debt collection agency to contact me and the first call I received was from some guy who did the "tough New Yorker" thing. I hate to admit it got to me when they started telling me how much I paid for my home and how I should take out a second mortgage. I ended up making payment arrangements and every month since July 2005, I have made a payment to these people. I have one payment left and because I didn't get back within the week they tried to call me, they are threatening to label this account as "closed and resolved" on my credit report. Can they do this? I have paid them almost $6k and only owe $350. I have e-mailed them and asked them to give me something in writing stating they will show my debt as paid in full once they receive my last payment, but I have yet to hear from them. What should I do? (In all likelihood, the debt will be marked as paid in full to B&M, but not be changed on your credit report. You might have paid all that money for naught...)
2007 I reported them to my Attorney General's office and actually got a response. First of all they sent me threatening type attorney looking letters that never advised me of my right to dispute the account. This is what I reported them for initially. Also I got tons of harassing calls from them...leaving messages I've never spoke with them on the phone and I have no intention of doing so! I sent them a request for validation of debt...I heard nothing. Suddenly, after I reported them to attorney general. I got a response from them that they were working on gathering the documents for my validation. I never heard from them again. They thru Collect America had this debt on my credit report. I disputed it with the credit bureau. A month later after the credit bureau disputing it...they DELETED it from my account. Now today, I get a response from the attorney generals office. It said that due to a clerical error the VOD was delayed and will be sent to me ASAP. There is no validation...its been deleted. Fight these guys!! They can't prove the debt. Do not pay them one cent.!!!! I reported them to FTC too.
2007 I worked at Bronson and Migliaccio for a little under a year. They were a very good company to work for. I really hate how all the people post this stuff on here. There should be a web site where bill collectors can go and vent. I don't yell at people i don't use illegal methods to get people to pay their bills. I just dont understand how these people were raised! Do they have any morals...I'm sure that you all think the same about us...but we pay our bills. I understand that there are the few out there that really did get into some trouble and they can't pay anymore. I know that isnt the story for most; and all the people out there that are upset that we call and we arent the most friendly group of people should be mad at the losers that dont pay their bills and can! ... they are what we call professional debtors. I just got fired from another collection agency becasue i dont break the law to get people to pay. My out look on life is what goes around comes around for all the scum that steal from companies at some point you will get what you deserve! Bud Hibbs should't have this web site he isnt trying to help anyone he is just trying to screw over collection agencys because he is a debtor himself... yes yes thats right mr. big $ in the suit up there that obviously has the recourses to pay his bills doesnt... why???? it really makes me sick i am 23 years old and i have a credit score of about 750 and yet i am sitll paying 22% intrest on one of my credit cards because other people dont pay theres! isnt that lovely! well i guess that my point of this was to vent a little bit i'm sure either mr. hibbs will post this w/ some derogatory head line or wont post it at all! and just for the record i get told to go more comments than you know about family...the list goes on and on...and i am truly nice to my debtors! It just really make me laugh to see the people that scream back and swear back get paid and i dont and i finsih last...the only way these people respond is by some
2007 I have read all the comments posted
on your WONDERFUL site regarding this debt collection agency
"Bronson & Migliaccio, LLP".
I wish I had known of this site a little over a year ago
when we were served with court papers requesting payment
(credit card charge off plus 25% or more atty fees plus
court costs). In all, over $5400. We agreed, through a
mediator (who also charged us $250) to make monthly
payments. We have made on-time payments since Sept. 05, as a
matter-of-fact, I gave them our bank account # and postdated
check numbers for them to process the checks each month.
They had a postdated check up until December 2006. I only
owe them one final payment now for $346 which I intend to
pay by my due date of January 30th.
Well, last week I get a phone call from a "Mr. Troia(sp?)"
from LOBM stating that they need to have on-hand 2 more
postdated checks to cover my remaining balance. When I told
him that I only owed him 1 more check, he got very defensive
and said that one check (dated back to 2005) was returned
'unpaid' from my bank and I still owed for that month. I
told him that it was impossible since my bank statements
show that all their checks have cleared. He began to get
real nasty with me stating that I had to prove that they had
been cleared, which by now I was getting very defensive, and
I stated to him that if I had to take time out of my busy
schedule to prove to them that I was right, that I would
need to charge them for my time in proving their
inadequacy... Needless to say, he hung up on me while I was
in the middle of saying this sentence.
I do plan on proving to them that I did pay them, but I
don't want any more contact with Mr. Troia, and after
reviewing your consumer comments, I am not sure who to
address my letter of dispute to, and expect a civil
representative to deal with my matter. I am also thinking of
closing my bank account, since they have access to it.
Do you know if I have any right in telling them that I have
been dealing with harassment from their representative and
that I also need something in writing from them indicating
that once my final payment has been posted, that they will
contact the credit bureaus to note that full payment was
made? Can I withhold my final payment until I get something
in writing from them? Can I use the court paper and bank
statements to prove to credit bureaus that I paid off this
account?
I am really confused and annoyed at them right now that I
really don't want to pay them one extra dime, but I'm sure
If I don't pay the last payment, they will never go away.
2007 A few month's back I received a call from a one Donna James from the office of Bronson & Migliaccio about an old debt that her company had picked up and she was looking for a full payment on this call. Ms. James was informed that I was unable to make a full payment but was able to make monthly payments to resolve this debt. Ms. James informed me that that was unacceptable and ended the call. An Officer from the the Sheriffs Department served me notification that I was being sued by this company for non payment. I contacted an attorney and had them file the paper work with the court and begin the process of filing for chapter thirteen and contact Bronson & Magliaccio with this information. Since I have followed all proper legal way's this Donna James continues to call my house up to six times a day informing me that I have never returned her calls and as of this week is calling my parents, sister and great great aunts house (who's number is unlisted) informing them that I need to contact her (Donna James) over a legal issue. On 1-19-07 at 10:00 am Donna James was contacted and given once again my Attorneys number and then she hung up and called my family right away.
I am a former debt collector for the Bronson and Migliaccio Law office. First off, there is only 1 REAL attorney in the office, and her name is Jill Anderson. Bruce Bronson and David Migliaccio are just two big headed JERKS that sit behind the scenes and collect the big bucks! The collectors and even some of the floor managers are treated like GARBAGE and then are expected to sit at their small cubicle for 8 hours calling consumers and taking their money for debts that are years old. They are encouraged by the general manager "little man" brad Wagner to do what they have to do to bring in the big bucks. Top collectors in this agency are the ones who break the most laws but because they are bringing in revenue for the company little man just lets it go in one ear and out the other. When a consumer calls in to complain they are usually put on hold until they hang up or are transferred to a lower collector to be verbally abused. ALL this is happening and this company is still in business?? My intention for this posting is just to warn you that LOBM can not really do anything to you.. they themselves cannot sue you garnish your wages or attach judgments to your CBR. These people are nothing more than LIARS that will say anything you want to hear to get your money. Be Careful and i suggest anyone dealing with them faxes a cease and desist letter immediately to 716-635-9550 OR call 888-900-9749 and ask to speak the the general manager himself brad wagner at extention 211. Once you get on the phone with brad you will see how worthless that company really is.
