October 2008 I received a letter today from this so-called 'company' stating that I owe $8051.96. I have never had any such purchases in this amount, never the less from the "credistore". When I call the number they provided, they asked for the last four digits of my ss#. I refused to give and and explained that I would NOT be a part of this scam. I belong to Identity Monitor and check my report each and every month. I also get email alerts when there are changes to my report. How can companies get away with scams like this?
September 2008 These guys will not quit! Guess having to be sued for 100k wasn't enough for them. They had Wolpoff & Abramsom sue me in Bexar County, Texas Pct 1/Plc 1 Judge Caballero's office, for which Wolpoff & Abramsom dropped the suit on May 22, 2008 of this year. Now, today, Sept 13, 2008, I get a letter from Arrow wanting to work out an offer and it's NOT even the original amount when they tried to sue me (lawsuit amount was $1643, today's letter states the amount as $2009.95---talk about a HUGE increase in less than 6 months--if I didn't know any better that looks like an extortion amount). Geeesh! These knuckleheads think I must be dumb or something. So, I just fired off a fax along with the information of the original lawsuit from W&A, a copy of the certified letter/return receipt that W&A signed for, and the judges dismissal their buddies @ W&A dropped and that they need to cease communication with me or risk being sued here in good ol' San Antonio, Texas. I've had it with ALL bottom feeders. I may change my degree from finance to consumer protection and advocacy, and put these knuckleheads in their place...out of business!
September 2008 I received a collection notice from Arrow Financial Services for an outstanding debt owed to Bank Of America. It stated that I owed $1240.25 but if I were to pay $186.04 on or before May 27th 2008 they will "consider my account to be settled in full and will stop further collection efforts." I paid the amount of 186.04 before the deadline. A month or 2 later I received another notice from Arrow stating that my current balance is $1069.19 and if I pay $427.68 by August 4,2008 they will "consider my account to be settled in full and will stop further collection efforts." I called them and questioned this. They told me that I was supposed call them first to tell them I was mailing a payment. They said they will send me a notice stating that the balance has been paid in full. It has been at least a month since I spoke with them and I haven't received anything. They definitely seem like a shady operation.
August 2008 Arrow added two collections to my credit report. My daughter, who is over the age of majority went to the doctor and put my address as her place of residence but I did not sign for her and did not even know she went to the doctor but since she put my address as her place of residence they (arrow) assumed that I was responsible. I contested these two additions to my credit report with the credit bureau's and arrow and all arrow did was sent me the hospital records with my address listed on it but my daughter as the guarantor. The credit bureau wrote me back and stated that the creditor has verified that it was my account. How do you fight back against something like this? You sue through the FCRA.
August 2008 I got something for you and this company. Federal law says that a collection agency an the original creditor cannot not be assignee. Well AFS does this. They place it on my reports, and do not care. I have filed a complaint with the FTC, know it will take a while.
August 2008 Almost daily I keep receiving a message on my telephone answering machine from Arrow Financial Services. They state that the message is for (they give my name) and if I am (my name) continue listening to the message. The message states that they are trying to collect for a debt. They have given various phone numbers at different times, for me to return their calls. The latest representative (yesterday, July 31, '08) said her name was Natasha. The number given for me to call back is 1-866-442-7596, Ext. 3153. I have not returned any of the calls. I have had a similar experience with a law firm in New York state by name of Lenahan Law Offices, which I found out are also "scam artists." Although I am trying to ignore the Arrow calls, it is very annoying to get these calls almost daily.
August 2008
I woke up yesterday morning to find my bank account
overdrawn by almost $5000 and when I called BANK OF AMERICA,
they instructed me to contact Mullooly, Jeffrey, Rooney &
Flynn-an alleged law firm in the Long Island, NY area. The
law firm was representing a company called ARROW FINANCIAL
who I had NEVER done business with. They had apparently put
a restriction on my BoA bank account.
I consulted with an attorney and found out that what had
probably happened was that ARROW FIN. bought an old debt (I
question the validity of that debt too) and then retained
Mullooly, Jeffrey, Rooney & Flynn to sue me for the debt.
They then falsified some documents to make it look like I
had been served with a summons IN PERSON and had not
appeared in court at a date that was in the summons. They
then got a DEFAULT judgment because I was not in court.
Again, just to clarify-I WAS NEVER SERVED WITH THE SUMMONS
SO I DID NOT GET THE INFORMATION AND SO I DID NOT SHOW UP TO
COURT. (At the time the summons was supposedly served to me
(March 2008) in person, I had moved out of state (I moved a
month prior) and have a lease and hotel bills to show for
it!)
The proof that I actually received the summons stated that I
was a MALE (I'm a female), that I was 5'5 (I'm 5'8 and
usually look like I'm 5'10 because I am always in heels), it
also stated that I was 115 pounds (I'm actually closer to
180 pounds!).
I got all the information from the City court that all these
documents were filed in and am now in the process of filing
an 'order to vacate judgment'.
In summary:
1. My bank account is frozen so I do not have access to
close to $3000 of MY money
2. Mullooly, Jeffrey, Rooney & Flynn committed fraud when
they said that I was served with a summons IN PERSON
3. The debt is from a company that I have never done
business with
Once they have re-opened the case, I plan to report Mullooly,
Jeffrey, Rooney & Flynn to the New York State Bar
association and I may take it further by suing them because
of all the expenses that I am incurring dealing with this
mess.
IF anyone else has had a problem similar to this regarding
either the law firm of Mullooly, Jeffrey, Rooney & Flynn OR
Bank of America please respond.
I know that Bank of America also has some very suspicious
methods because they seem to sympathize with the
creditors/law firms more than their own clients (account
holders). Also, every time a restriction is put on a bank
account, BANK OF AMERICA benefits because they apply every
fee that they can possibly think of!
SO, AGAIN IF YOU HAVE HAD A PROBLEM WITH EITHER BANK OF
AMERICA OR THIS LAW FIRM WE CAN START A CLASS ACTION LAW
SUIT!
I WILL NOT TAKE THIS LYING DOWN-I PLAN TO GET MY MONEY BACK
AND I PLAN TO BE REIMBURSED FOR EVERY FEE THAT I HAVE PAID
OR WILL PAY BY THE TIME THAT THIS IS OVER!
June 2008 I co-signed a note for
my son with HSBC Retail. My son got behind and they turned
to me for payment. I tried to keep up but was suddenly
diagnosed with Colon cancer. My medical bills went through
the roof and I was unable to pay. They continued to harass
me until I filed Chapter 13 and surrendered by interests in
the collateral. I have received confirmation of my plan but
last night I got a call from Arrow Financial. The
representative was extremely rude and when I explained that
I had filed bankruptcy, she said it was up to me to fax them
proof immediately. I told her I would have my attorney
forward the necessary information the following day and she
then proceeded to tell me the name of my attorney as well as
his phone number. I told her that they were aware of the
bankruptcy if they had that information and they were now in
violation of the stay order. She said that they weren't and
besides that, once the discharge order was received, they
would be calling again. She finally hung up as she wasn't
getting anything out of me. I looked up their information on
the internet and called the Customer Complaint line thinking
I would talk to someone with a level head that understood
what a bankruptcy stay was. Wrong, I got someone who was
just as rude and nasty. She also said that until they had it
in writing they would continue to call and I could do
whatever I wanted to with my attorney and the stay. She
agreed that they had the attorney information and the case
information but not the actual documents they needed to stop
the calls. When I asked what document she wanted, she said
whatever you want to send and hung up.
My attorney has verified today that they were included and
the address for information to be sent to them was correct.
He is also forwarding them a letter specific to their claim
with a copy to my trustee. My attorney has also advised that
if they call back, to notify them immediately.
From reading all of the complaints, I do not expect them to
stop. What they do not realize is that I am a former
collector and am willing to fight all the way. Cancer may
have side lined me for awhile but I have since put in
remission and am ready to do battle.
June 2008 I dare you to publish this comment. I am an employee of Arrow Financial Services and you guys have no idea what we have to have to deal with. (We never reveal personal information, so you can tell us anything - consumers or insiders, but we don't publish without an email address. Sorry.)
June 2008 I was just called by this company a girl names Candace that didn't know how to speak correctly, tried telling me that she was going to sue me for an act my husband owed, when i asked her for the attorneys name she started stuttering, i do not believe this company has the ability to sue anyone. i have faxed over a c&d and will be making an attorney general complaint
June 2008 My husband and I are going to credit counseling next week and I was calling creditors to get balances. I called Washington Mutual (WAMU) and they said my account was sold to Arrow Financial. Well, I got yet another call from Pentagroup Financial and they said they we collecting for WAMU. I asked about Arrow and he said Arrow was a federal funded collection agency through Sallie Mae. Is this true? He said that they won't work with credit counselors and he refused to give me the origional debt balance. He then told me yet again, that he would list that I refused to pay and wished me the best of luck. Now you would think that if they wanted to get paid that they would work with ya some how!
April 2008 I am an employee at
Arrow Financial Services, and I was quite surprised to find
this site. We're the sleazy ones.
Although I have read multiple articles in the site and some
were helpful...but the agency pages very
unprofessional...And the comments, the comments are even
more of a joke.
Arrow financial services hires prostitutes, ex-cons child
pedophiles & drug dealers that is the kind of people you are
dealing with at arrow!! (Allegedly)"
Prostitutes? Ex-Cons? Child Pedophiles?
Drug Dealers? I'm sure...
(The writer also commented on harassing people, breaking FDCPA laws and falsifying documents, but as they did not give their email, we cannot publish it in it's entirety as accurate.)
April 2008 Arrow financial services hires prostitutes, ex-cons child pedophiles & drug dealers that is the kind of people you are dealing with at arrow!! (Allegedly.)
2007 Arrow Financial has been reporting to the credit agencies that I have a bad debt owed to a credit card company. The problem is the person with the bad debt has the same SS number as mine except the last two numbers and those are the same only transposed. I know this because I went through the same problems two years ago. I have sent Arrow all necessary documentation to prove who I am but they just seem unable to clear this matter up and it is holding up a mortgage refinance. I am amazed at the ineptness of the persons I have dealt with at Arrow. The first item they want is your Social Security number. I tell them my SS number is not in their system and that they are reporting on me inaccurately but they still insist. After giving them my social the first thing Arrows' employee says is " Sorry you are not in our system. " I then proceed to give Arrow the number of the person who does own the bad debt essentially doing their work for them. This debacle has gone on for over a month now. I asked to have a letter sent to me stating this bad debt was not mine and I was told," Sorry we can't send you a letter as you are not in our system." Really) I even tried moving up the food chain to the supervisory level. I was promised a copy of the letter which they said was sent to the credit agencies, I'm still waiting. I think Arrow should compensate me for my wasted time and the aggravation I've had to put up with due to their ineptitude.
2007 I have been receiving letters from this company abut owing money on accounts that are so old that they have been paid off for years. I no longer own a credit card with the company that they are trying to get paid for. Watch out. don't get scammed.
2007 Arrow Financial Services has reported a default loan account of my son's under my credit report through Experian Credit Services that has created some credit problems. I called and spoke with a friendly female representative that confirmed the mistake via the different birthdays. I also mailed a requested copy of the fraudulent report to Arrow Financial Services as requested only to find out that they confirmed the dispute, requested through Experian, as confirming my ownership. This account has been dragged through the legal system for wage garnishment and summons. I've filed a FTC Consumer complaint and I'm getting ready to go-in fighting with the U.S. Government on my shoulders.
2007 The experience has begun: while I had pleasant conversations with one representative -and I authorized a ONE-TIME ONLY electronic payment, I sent the next check by USPS (along with a letter that was VERIFY the amount I owed; I didn't want single sheets of paper with my name and an amount. I wanted copies of all paperwork because the amount I was told over the telephone was exceedingly high). To my dismay, I checked my account to see ANOTHER electronic payment! Completely unauthorized, uncontracted. Yes, I know what I'm up against. When I called their customer service line and gave an identifying number, the representative CLAIMED he had no record of my name. The battle is on...next to contact: attorney generals in all required states; you can call this Part 1.
2007 We had Arrow call us
about a past-due amount from GE Moneybank. The first
individual we talked to refused to listen to us trying to
tell him that we had to make it a certain amount. When I
talked to him myself, he was telling me he was going to put
us down as unwilling to pay the debt. I promptly told him
there's a difference between being unwilling to pay and
unable to pay. He argued against it, telling me I was wrong,
and then hung up on me. We managed to work out a deal, one
where we'd pay it off if we had proof, in writing, that it
was paid in full when it was over.
After the whole thing was over, we suddenly had debt
collectors contacting us seemingly out of the woodwork,
including such prizewinners as NCO (we asked them to stop
since they didn't send a letter after 5 days, they still
haven't), and CPS Services (who wouldn't give us the
required 30 day period to send a dispute and refused a
partial payment). It was only after reading about Arrow here
that I realized what must've happened, that Arrow sold our
contact information to other services, telling them we were
an easy target.
2007 All of the comments I have read are unfortunately true and bad news for consumers i use to work for Arrow as a manager and I have witnessed many illegal practices they say they follow the FDCPA but they don't every collector breaks it and are trained on how to break it without it being noticed. collectors are also told that if they don't hit goal (collect a certain amount they will be fired. If you think they treat us consumers bad they treat employees worst. These people are criminals don't let them scare you they can do nothing to you. if you do decide to pay them wait until the last day of the month that's when collectors are desperate to make goal and will settle up to 35% of your debt that's the best way to get back at them. Arrow is so bad that when they fire someone they bribe them with a severance package if they sign a contract stating they will not press charges or file a complaint with the EEOC for wrongful termination. if someone reading this can get this information to Lisa Madigan I would appreciate it I cant do it because I was one of the ones who Signed the Bribe /contract. However I would be more than happy to provide a copy of this bribe this has to be illegal. This is just another illegal practice that Arrow is involved in Someone has to put a stop to them put them out of business if I can help do not hesitate to contact me Bud can you direct me in the right direction or do something about this. In addition they are ripping off Amircas Students they are the largest collection agency of student loans they are Sallie Mae watch out for Sallie Mae On your Credit Report that is also altered and the amounts are consistantley increased. the Head of The student loan collections department is Patrick Kelly Director of student Loans At Arrow/ Sallie Mae I know him personally and he is a Big Crook who only cares about Money he collects not the students our kids may be at arrow for their student loans lets hope not lets stop them!! maggots ,crooks ,bottom feeders, I still feel guilty because of the lies
2007 Gee, these guys are definitely NOT gracious in defeat. After fighting with them since 2005, I sent them a FINAL NOTICE OF INTENT TO SUE, as they have refused to validate an alleged debt from 2002 (paid in full to original creditor), and have re-aged the account twice. Well, I gt a letter today from a Paul Ziebert, Senior Corporate Counsel and it was dripping venom, but they agreed to delete the false trade line. He attached my "cease comm" letter, but none of the other seven sent by Certified Mail demanding validation. Oh well, as long as it comes off, all is well.
2007 Arrow Financial will
not stop calling my house. I have never heard of them and
have never received any mail from them. They refused to
identify who they are and accused me of no cooperating when
I refused to tell them
private information about where I live, my address, etc. I
do not know them and would like them to stop calling my
house. They were very rude and belligerent.
2007 These people will try to mess your credit up by placing Bogus entries on your credit file. I had a 10 yr old cellphone account with another carrier then ATT bought them out. I switched to another carrier and cancelled ATT. They billed me for a couple of months after I cancelled. They reported the account as 60 days late. I disputed it. Never got it straight but it finally dropped off Equifax. A couple of years ago I got a notice from Arrow trying to collect on it. I disputed it but they placed it on my credit reports I happened to have a copy of a ten year old Equifax report where it showed the account 60 days. I made a copy and sent it to Equifax. They claimed they investigated and said the report was accurate. Even after seeing it re dated on their own report. Arrow had re dated the account to show a couple of years old and claimed it was accurate. An individual has no chance of getting anything corrected by these Credit Bureaus if the so called Creditor says otherwise. Experian is the worst. Arrow flat out lied in re dating a DISPUTED ACCOUNT. I guess it will be on my credit for another 5 years even though it's ten years old and I never owed the money either. www.myfaircredit.com
2007 I received a settlement offer letter from FMS\Arrow Financial services regarding an old past credit card debt (Providian) and was told if I pay by a certain date the matter would be paid in full. I paid on time and contacted the agency for a settlement letter; they have been stalling since, telling me that it was faxed; however I never gave them a fax number. Upon further investigation I decided to check my Equifax credit report and noticed that the reporting date had been changed and that there was a balance owed, the original amount minus the settlement paid and the account was noted as open not closed paid in full as promised. My score dropped 40 points. Yet debt collectors don't understand why they aren't trusted...
2007 On February 14th I received two letters from Arrow Financial Services. Both had my address with names similar to mine but are not me. They referenced two different accounts. On February 16th, I received another letter with yet a different name and account. In May I received yet another letter - different name and account. Each time I have called and explained that they have the wrong address but I want to know why my address was added to these accounts. I also received a letter from RJM Acquisitions for yet another name and account. I have also received two calls from collection agencies for two more names and accounts. No one will explain why my address or phone number is on these accounts. After threatening to call the MI State AG I finally got the name of a customer service manager at AFS. A week after leaving her a message I still haven't actually talked to anyone that will resolve this problem. The debts are not mine. Someone fraudulently put my address on these accounts. Arrow staff had been rude, nasty and unwilling to help. I'm afraid how much further this will go before I can't get it resolved. How many more accounts will they put my address on before I can get the situation resolved?
2007 I just received a summons today for a suit filing by Arrow and their locally hired attorney. The complaint was filed on Oct of 2006 and because I haven't lived at the address they filed in the complaint for over 4 years they somehow obtained my parents address and the sheriff attempted to serve me there and of course my parents called me because of the service attempt notice left on their door. The complaint was filed about a month before the SOL was up on the account but since it took 9 months before I ever received the notice of complaint is that Civil action even still valid back to the date filed?
2007 I have Continuously dispute this account with the rep's of this collection company. I have asked them to validate this debt with no success. This was a account with a company Builder's Square, that filed for bankruptcy and went out of business in 1998. They are reporting a date of 2003 and are reporting a last date of activity date of 2002( re aging of this account). The three major credit bureaus continue to send my disputes back as verified. The rep's will call me and say thing that borders harassment.
Our account was turned over to Arrow Financial and we have been paying them over 150.00 a month. 2 Days ago we found out that they are charging us almost 57% interest on this account. Is this legal? Anyone out there know about this or experienced the same thing? There's a great consumer attorney in Dallas...
2007 I have had nothing but trouble from these people. They call my cell phone at least ten times a day. The number always comes up blocked. When they do leave a message, the number they leave is bogus. I finally spoke with a Mr. Driver briefly. I told him that I was at work and that I could not talk to him. He said for me to call him back from another phone. I told him to send me whatever he had to say in writing as I do not discuss personal business via phone (I learned the hard way) I received nothing. Now a debt in the amount of $1496.00 has appeared on my credit bureau for Arrow Financial "as a assignee of Wash Mut" I never had an account with Washington Mutual other than a regular bank account which was closed by me personally over a year ago. I have disputed the debt but the credit bureaus refuse to remove it. They say that the creditor has verified the debt. I want the paperwork but when I request it I get no response. I need this removed from the credit bureaus. How do I go about it? (Dispute it with the credit bureaus in writing.)
2007 I hope this
letter finds you in good health and spirits. I wrote to you
earlier concerning Arrow Financial services LLC. I appeared
in court with them today. My case was almost immediately
dismissed with prejudice against Arrow and they were not a
happy lot in leaving. Fact is, their attorney reminded me of
a little school kid who was just sent home for throwing spit
balls.
I found a Montana State Supreme Court decision, Case #
93-301. That case ruled on application of the MT. Statute of
Limitations as it applied to a Visa Card dispute. The only
conditions different from mine was in that case, 5 years and
2 months had passed and in mine, nearly 8 years have
elapsed. Arrow obviously was counting on me not being in the
Court so they could get a default judgment as they are
probably accustomed to with impoverished folks who cannot
employ an attorney. When I walked in and sat down with a
brief case full of papers, they turned quite pale, very
nervous and appeared ready to break and run. It was done and
dismissed in short order as they had not a damn substantial
thing to offer and not one document with my signature. What
they did present, I objected to and it was not allowed.
FYI, The Sate of Illinois Attorney General, Lisa Madigan has
now filed another suit in Cook County Illinois against
Sallie Mae & Arrow for their continued illicit tactics. It
appears that little was learned from the Minnesota affair. I
also plan to contact our State Attorney General and file a
complaint based on the Federal Consumer Protection laws and
Fair Collection.
Thank you so much for taking time to inform the general
public of our rights and giving us a sense of direction with
disputes such as mine. You were right all the way! Many of
the lesser privileged will undoubtedly benefit as I did. It
is not about avoiding payment of legal debts, but more so to
prevent rape by lies and judgment.
2007 These people called me and left a full detailed message on my voicemail about an outstanding debt and I need to return the call to make arrangements on this debt. Also included that they are a debt collector and any information given will be used to collect a debt. Well, being a debt collector myself (kind of ironic huh), that is against the law and under NO circumstances are they allowed to leave a detailed message like that!
2007 This company has reported to Experian that I owe $1,815.00 to the as assignee of GE Money Bank. I have no idea what this is about at all but it is on my credit report as bad credit now. BEWARE! (Keep records of everything, and dispute the item with the credit bureau...)
2007 I received an offer from Arrow Financial Services to pay off a debt from JC Penny for $560. They offered me 145 to settle which I accepted. Then after call several time, they finally snt me a letter saying the account was closed. But it was closed and they sold the same account to another collection company Pressler & Pressler for the same debt. After getting my credit it and going back and forth with these two companies, I got the matter finalized , or so I thought. Now a year later Arrow Financial is coming after me for the same debt I settled with a year ago, but now they have tacked on interest. Here I go again. How honest is a collector who buys a debt for pennies on the dollar, makes 500% profit in your settlement, sells the debt to another agency and still has the nerve to collect from you again...)
