The State Bar of Texas has disbarred Joan Myers from the practice of law, effective June 1, 2009.

Myers of Myers and Associates, formerly of Myers & Porter has a long history of debt collection swindles that stretch around the country.

Joan Myers would have found gainful employment with Bernie Madoff, as her accounting methods purposely designed to accommodate herself with every new client she took. There are many clients and consumers taken by Joan Myers.

Hers was a law license used to pad her bank account at every opportunity. She and hubby James E. Porter were two of the most useless debt collectors I have come across in more than twenty-five years. Their inept ability to practice law was legendry across Texas.

The collection industry, the American consumer, and the courts are better off without the incompetence of Joan Myers.

It would have surprised no one who knew Joan Myers and how she operated had she faced a felony conviction before her disbarment.

Joan Myers deserves what she got, justice has prevailed, and one of the most pathetic debt collectors in Texas is finally a bad memory.
