March 2009 GC is also calling me nonstop. I have an attorney to sue them, please contact me at mkriskasalo@yahoo.com to join in suit vs GC services.
March 2009 Starting about a month ago, I began getting calls from GC Services out of their Elgin, Illinois office. They are trying to find an Andrew Hud. It's not me and I don't know the man nor have I ever even heard of him. They are now calling me several times a day, are abusive, harassing, rude and obnoxious. I have told them continually to stop calling me but they won't. I've done everything I can think of to stop them, including calling the police department (both locally and in Elgin, Illinois) to report harassment. How can I make them stop?
November 2008 though this was settled between this company and i via a debt settlement company, it wasn't without getting phone calls all day for weeks and then getting the same calls at work. when a fellow by the name of i believe ray and when i told him not call my office he became amazingly aggressive
August 2008 Called several times a day and would not tell me anything about my alleged bill. Would not give me an account number. I told them I had never had an account with the business trying to collect. Woman became abusive and started yelling and swearing at me. I told them I had received several calls from this company from many different numbers and had already reported them to the attorney general in my state and the BBB. She became irate and hung up on me. They called again today from a different number and hung up on me. I don't owe any money to the business trying to collect. They keep giving me a different address and I tell them it's NOT ME and they insist on calling several times a day, all hours of the day
August 2008 I recently received a mass of phone calls on my house phone from "GC Services" and I was told I HAD to contact a "Miss Hampton." I called back and asked for the woman and she told me I had a debt with Sprint over my cell phone bill and when I explained to her that I paid for it she continued to tell me I was lying because Sprint doesn't negotiate and does all of their payment collection through them. I continued to get more frustrated when she was calling me a liar and the woman hung up on me, great customer service. She then called back and told me that she hung up with me because she "was done with talking to me" and that I was a liar. What a great company. I wish I could work there and be a raging jackass.
July 2008 I just received a call from a GC Services collector named "Brandy". The call came from a (602) area code listed as Operations Division. This very hostile collector demanded that I pay my outstanding debt with American Express immediately. The debt was slightly over $10K, due to late fees and etc. I tried explaining to her that I was unable to come up with that amount of money, and I was seeking an attorney and working with a debt settlement firm just to keep from going bankrupt and/or losing my home. She laughed at me and stated that AMEX does not negotiate. She added that this firm is taking me for a ride. She wanted to know how long I have been with this company. I told her that it was not her concern, but I would be more than happy to give her the toll-free number and the name of my account manager. This is when things got really ugly. She looked up something on her computer and basically told me that I was beyond help and no one could help me now. Her last words were, "Wow! This long and they haven't done anything to help you". I had to end the call.
June 2008 I just received a collection notice from these dopes for an account that was discharged in a chapter 7 bankruptcy. Interesting to see after these comments I've read on here about their practices how they are going to respond to the letter from my attorney. I'm almost tempted to call them myself to let them go through their spiel before I drop the bomb on them that they are illegally attempting to collect on this bill.
June 2008 GC Services will not identify who they are at first. Then they claimed first to be HOME DEPOT, then CITIBANK. I asked them, "Are you with Citibank?" "I work for Citibank" I said, "So you are an employee of Citibank?" She didn't want to answer and kept saying "I work for Citibank." I told her I was really confused now because the first person on the call (a total of four people had to talk to me) said they were GC services. She finally admitted she was not an employee. They refuse to send any mailings. They said Home Depot would call my employer if I didn't pay by Friday. When I asked for an address to mail them a letter, they refused and hung up on me.
June 2008
This is funny!! I had this collection
agency to call and as you they always say." this call will
be monitored/recorded and this is an attempt to collect a
debt." So my response was...."I must inform you that I, too,
will be recording this conversation." Immediately, they
collector said..."we do not permit this!!" Of course, I
politely told the rep. that if I can not record this call,
we cannot talk...Thanks and goodbye."
Has anyone ever heard of this? They want to record your
conversation, but do not want you to record their
conversation. WOW!! Then again. this was a collector that
had been calling and has just been getting down right
"rude", when tell them what I can afford to pay. Then when I
tell them that I'm sorry but my financial situation has
changed and I can pay. They scream and yell, get rude,
etc...Then when I say I am about to end the conversation,
they say well, I need the name and number of your attorney!!
I have heard horror stories about collection agencies
before, but I guess it took me having financial difficulties
to actually experience it.
April 2008 I am currently receiving mail from GC Services Limited Partnership in Houston, TX. This to, is about a student loan that I have been paying on and has been sent to collections in June 2007, while I was paying. First I got mail from Diversified Collection S. (also on Bud Hibbs' list), I didn't realize it because I was paying the debt. When I kept getting letters I decided it was time to check into it. A "dispute validation" letter got rid of them. Now I am getting hit with the same thing from GC Services LP.
April 2008 Receive letters from them almost weekly. They call all the time and they also work with BANK OF AMERICA THE ADDRESS FOR GC SERVICES I have is Jacksonville FL 32247 even though the letter comes from Houston, TX
April 2008 I worked as a collector for a legitimate bank for almost 5 years and I have NEVER seen or dealt with people like this company. They make threats, call you names, use profanity and told me to "get a job!" For Christ's sake - I have a job. The economy SUCKS. I misused credit, and admittedly signed on with a credit management agency to help me work things out. But legitimate bill payers should NOT be harassed... Contact the SEC and report these types of companies.

2007 They’ve been calling several times to
resolve a past-due account. They called my children as well,
divulging personal information and using threatening
language such as "Do you want to see your father served with
papers?"
That isn't the worst of it however. I decided to go ahead
and pay the debt and gave them a call. I was transferred to
the same gentleman (and I use that term loosely) that has
been harassing me and my family. The call started first with
a lie. "We don't accept payments by mail." I laughed and
told him that was funny because I had gotten something in
the mail from them instructing me where to send it (a PO
Box). I told him there was no way I was going to give him
any information over the phone. I used this terminology
several times. He kept pressing.
Eventually I just said "Look, either you want the money or
you don't." And his reply was "Either you want to resolve
this or you don't. You were the one that stole the money."
That was as far as I was willing to go.
"I have the current balance, I have this address, I will be
sending a check. Goodbye." *click*
He didn't call back. The nerve of these people. It dawned on
me why he wanted it over the phone. He gets a commission
from my debt if he collects it personally. I wouldn't give
the twerp the satisfaction.
Don't try and deal with these people rationally. It simply
doesn’t work.

2007 i am actually an employee for the company GC Services. i am not here to defend the company as I as leaving shortly and i myself have seen some questionable things. there is another GC office in Knoxville TN (my location) first of all, props on the site, i admire your efforts to educate the public. we are a smaller location in comparison the other offices, so you may not have heard of us. fyi, Gc Services is appropriately called Gulf Coast Services, founded in 1957 out of Houston, they are one of the most aggressive in the industry. they do both 1st party and 3rd party collections. they serve as a "financial" dept for companies such as Nextel, Bellsouth, and Credit One. I have seen a few less than kosher practices on the behalf of this company such as give their client's customers "courtesy calls" at 10 at night to remind them their bill is past due, stating to credit card debtors that no, they will not stop calling them and they will collect their debts to the full extent of the law, including telling debtors that they are taking bench warrants out on them (is this even legal??), the people who work in 3rd party collections (the collection agency itself) scream down people's throats telling them that the companies in question don't want anything to do with them or their money, reps are encouraged to be condescending and arrogant: "remember, you know more than they do!", and they continually deny employees bonuses at random, due to some "computer glitch" (bonuses are based on statistics for the week), and even though they theirselves will admit it was a computer error they refuse to give their employee's the bonus that they earned, this company needs to be reported to the BBB!
2007 I received a phone call from RICHARD
WATTS at GC Services Limited Partnership. I am currently in
the process of beginning a credit counseling program, and
RICHARD WATTS called claiming he was from the "legal
department", and that "his client" (Citibank) intended on
doing the following if I didn't immediately pay the $14,000
debt I owed:
1) Sue me 2) Take my home away 3)
Put a lien on my home
This idiot couldn't even decide which of the above 3 he
wanted to lie about, so he used all 3 to scare me. He said I
had 25 days to pay, or one of the above would happen. I was
so fascinated at how he could "take my home away" for an
unsecured credit card debt, and I asked him how that worked.
RICHARD WATTS became enraged and told me only HE was allowed
to ask questions.
I stayed completely calm and tried to explain to him I
was making a good faith effort to pay the debt back, and
I was in credit counseling. RICHARD WATTS laughed at me and
claimed:
1) Citibank does not work with credit counseling services,
EVER...a claim that the Citibank customer service manager
denies.
2) I was more than 90 days delinquent, when in fact I was 30
days delinquent. There wasn't even a mark from Citibank on
my credit report. I told RICHARD WATTS I was taping
our conversation, to which he became completely OUTRAGED and
screamed the following at me:
1) "What are you going to do with that? You're not even
smart enough to pay your bills!"
2) "I'm going to call you every day, maybe even several
times a day until you pay!"
3) "Do you have any kids?" (He kept asking me this. I
refused to answer, and I have no idea what this scumbag
wanted to do with that information.)
4) "You've been living real good off of my client, now pay
Citibank back. You don't get free money!"
5) "You own a home and you have a job, so you have no excuse
for not paying. Pay or we take."
6) "You have no idea how much power I have. I have your
whole life in front of me on a screen. Everything."
7) I explained I was unemployed for a long time which
is how the debt was incurred in the first place. I was
hardly living the high life, and he responded, "Well, you
weren't smart enough to contact my client at the time, so
now you have to deal with me."
This guy kept referring to my intelligence, but I checked
out the requirements to be a bill collector at GC Services.
Their website claims the San Diego office, which is where
RICHARD WATTS works, is looking for 15 bill collectors (huge
turnover I guess). The requirements are NOTHING. They do say
they want high school graduates. WOW. RICHARD WATTS must be
the smartest high school graduate EVER since he was able to
judge MY intelligence.
RICHARD WATTS does continue to call about every other day,
but I don't answer. I have noticed that I receive anywhere
from 1 to 5 blocked calls on my caller ID every day. I never
get blocked calls, so I know this is RICHARD WATTS. It
doesn't sound legal for collectors to block their calls, but
we are talking about scumbags here, so anything goes.
Tomorrow, I am sending a cease and desist letter because I'm
worried that they will contact my employer. Citibank has
assured me that they are completely willing to work with me,
so I'm not real worried about my high school graduate buddy
with low self esteem by the name of RICHARD WATTS. I
actually feel sorry for him. How miserable must he be in his
life to sink to such disgusting levels to collect money from
people? Sorry, what was the
collector's name again? Robert Watson?
2007 I too have been getting calls every day from this company. I suggest not picking up the phone and instead sending them a cease and desist letter via certified mail. With collection agencies it is pointless to talk to them on the phone. I'm glad that Budd Hibbs listed these guys because they clearly have no problem violating the FDCPA. They are trying to collect on a Capital One account which I may have once had but was unable to pay because of job loss. GC Services of course does not care about that. They just want to keep bugging people for money and will call many times throughout the day trying to force you to pay. From what I have read on other sites these guys are nothing more than scam artists and they have violated the FDCPA time and time again.
This group has another address that they are operating out of. 4019 Woodcock Drive #101 Jacksonville, Fl 32247 800-801-9403 They have numerous complaints with the Better Business Bureau. They openly disregard and disrespect collection laws, and will speak towards it having no direct affect on their business.
