ER Solutions, owned by Atlanta based
Convergent Resources, Inc. (CRI), is one of five company owned
agencies, including Surpas Resources of Houston, TX.
ER president, Steven J. Hunter
boasts they have one of the largest call centers in the
northwest. ER currently ranks as the 9th largest debt collection
agency in the country, according to company press releases.
Family owned and operated, VP/Treasurer Kathy Hunter, Jeffery
Hunter is VP of Collections.
They have operations in Houston,
Phoenix and Atlanta as well as the Washington state
headquarters.
Like all agencies that are pushing the "bigger is better"
attitude, ER Solutions and Surpas Resources join the other major
player in building at the cost of the consumer and skirting the
laws.
Under provisions of federal law the
Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) consumers have a
right to dispute the validity of an account, within thirty days
of written notice. ER Solutions and Surpas Resources get an "F"
for Failure to properly respond to complaints and to abide by
the Fair Credit Reporting Act in reporting disputed accounts.
Perhaps mega-conglomerate and mother
company, Convergent Resources, Inc. is making too much money in
the collection industry. As the lawyers say, they are a lawsuit
waiting to happen.
Save your money, dispute ALL
accounts with these organizations and watch the dates of last
activity on your credit reports. Apparently these companies care
more about the bottom line, than the laws.
