October 2009 I called this law firm back after "Lily" called my mom and my sister in law. She informed me that if I did not pay $6000 within one week they would take all of my assets and sue me. She then had me speak to a man who she claimed worked for their office and for Bank of America. She told me to avoid a lawsuit and from them taking my assets I needed to give them my bank information right then. I did some research and have found that EVERYONE says they are a scam and will drain your bank account. I then called Lily and told her I needed her to validate the debt and she said she could not do that and it was my responsibility to get that information from someone else. WHO? I told her that in the letter they sent I had 30 days to dispute this and for the record I am deputing it. She then hung up on me.

March 2009 I was contacted from someone named Glenn for Richard Clark about a debt from my husband. They contacted everyone in our family before they called us personally. Glenn then told my husband and I we had 2 days to come up with the total amount due or they would try to take our home. I was so completely devastated and stressed by this threat that I at 11 weeks pregnant, was put on bed rest due to stress induced high blood pressure.

March 2009 used to work there, the whole point of this company is to see how many people they can screw out of money. The whole office is a joke all they really do is see how many different people they can sleep with and then fire before the new training class comes in. The most popular employee is the one named Trish. By rumor they claim she is the best collector, but in reality she sleeps with the most employees including the married owner, the GM who has two kids. Trish who now has received a raise for her vulgar efforts, has now taken it a step further and is sleeping with Aaron J., who is married and has a daughter, wonder if his wife knows. This company is horrible there is no professionalism, take my advice and don't work for this company. For all consumers, if this company ever calls you, just hang up. They will break all FDCPA laws and tell you nothing but lies. All this office is good for is passing Trish around to get somebody off, and believe me, it is not that good or clean!!

March 2009 well since the owner of this company accused me of writing a post on Bud Hibbs I made a decision that I will do just that. (as I said u will know if I post something Jim) the fact that he had to contact me through an instant message and remind me that I was stupid enough to move to Texas to work for him is justification in my mind to do this. I was solicited at my job in buffalo to move to Houston to become the GM of this company, although I did check out this website to see what was being said I still trusted this owner that he had character, well that was my fault. I accepted the position with the company and moved to Texas, however before I moved I let jim know that I could not work Saturdays nor would I be available to work in October for a week due to religious obligations, and let him know that I could not take the job if this was an issue.. Wooley told me not to worry about it.. so I took him at his word. little did I know that his word was worth so little.

I moved my family to Houston for the opportunity when I arrived I knew right off that I made a mistake. Wooley kept saying he wanted to meet with me and go over things but that never happened. I had never dealt with such unprofessionalism in my life as this company. I consider myself an honest collector in 11 years I do not have any law suits against me, and Bud be my guest to verify that. after working there a month it came time for me to go on my religious excursion. Wooley knew I would be gone for a week. I knew something was wrong when he asked me not to come in the Friday before I left. I understood by that time I was working for a man with no character. I wasn't going to be conned or strong-armed into not going on our religious activity.. so I did go when I returned to work one of the managers told me when I got to the office I had been replaced but wooley wanted to talk to me. (i was never contacted by Wooley to let me know this) the new GM came to the office as I was waiting. He had no idea that wooley didn't handle the situation. so him and I just stared at each other.. (ANOTHER CLASSLESS MOVE BY WOOLEY) also I was told by the elder manager that she didn't tell me because wooley told her she would be fired!! the guy he hired also came from out of town in Ohio. I asked him did you get a contract from wooley? if you didnt watch out! well he didn't and he was fired in December and I was called to come back to be GM again.. reluctantly I took it since I could not find a job in the Houston area because of my religion, since I do not work on Saturdays. By that time it was clear that Fred really doesn't want anyone else to run any part of that company except him. I think it threatens him. I have met two evil people in my life. Wooley is the 2nd one. I have met drug addicts, alcoholics but they were not what I call evil wooley is evil.... when he comes into the office the collectors pretend to like him, which none really do. one thing I wouldn't do is pretend to like wooley, actually it was the opposite I couldn't fake it like so many there do on a daily basis when in reality they only do because they are afraid for their job.. I am not going to get into a name calling bad mouthing like so amny on here do I point out facts. and seriously if wooley didn't have the backing of collect America I dont think he would be in business, he survives for that reason only. he has screwed so many people over it is only a matter of time when it catches up with him... it is nice to be back in buffalo after that disaster. Houston is still a great town!! I am writing this to let people know that if you are considering working for this company think twice this is the worst company I have ever had any association with in my 11 year career, and if he isn't taking peoples bonuses for some ridiculous reason he is taking peoples comp time, which is something I have never heard of in my life!!

February 2009 This Agency is a joke. They're in the top five lowest paid agencies in TX. They have a female manager there if you look at the pictures of her on the wall outside and see her now she has aged like forty years in seven. Reason being is that she buys Vicadin from the people who sell on the clock and she pops like 5 a day and she even has a police case for carrying un-prescribed medication. She is the biggest backstabber in any industry she tells people how much she cares for them and then goes and talks about them like dogs to the GM and the owner. We call her bobble head she will do anything to keep her position she puts in fake checks when the big wigs walk around. Which leads me to the owner he will remind you of Jethro from the Beverly Hillbillies. he stays drunk, flirts with employees, and has the business savvy of a snail I can't wait to leave this rat hole please don't get desperate enough to go work for these morons. The attorney is also a drunk and is very unapproachable who doesn't even listen to other people he is a know it all who is screwing a employee which explains why he doesn't have a wife. Its' bad the bonus structure is so bad and they pay so little and now they're just taking people and cutting pay.

January 2009 Everything written about the Law Office of Richard Clark is true. I worked there for over a year (when it was still The Law Office of Sam Streeter) and EVERYTHING done there is illegal and defies all FDCPA rules. I would be on the phone with the courts and have to be yelled at because we filed without the full petition or bill of sale. I, more than once had to find attorneys in another city to cover our case in court the NEXT day because there was no system or any organization. I was constantly harassed by Jim Wooley sexually and work wise. Drugs ran ramped, sex was always talked about and not on breaks either. My manager would come and stand over you and try to look down your blouse while he was talking to you. I finally quit and have never regretted it! I sincerely hope that place shuts down.

December 2008 I just started receiving calls from so called attorney. The calls (recordings left) from the semi professional to the absurd. One was to an ex-employer stating that they had a Federal Garnishment to execute, at least 2 calls a day to the home phone stating that This is not a sales call it is an attempt to collect a debt and I should call them immediately. I am a consultant and rarely respond to these morons. However I do dig a lot further into and what they have been up to in the past. I am posting a link here on the ethical Mr Clark. October 2008 5 different general managers in 5 months. Everyone they drag into this sorry place is unable to do anything for it. Mike, hope you read this, get out while you can. Go get you a real job, seriously.

October 2008 All of you morons need to grow up. If all of you spent half the time you spend on this website actually working, you probably wouldn't have any drama to talk about. I think they need to reinstate drug testing at work, reinstate the policy of no interoffice dating/screwing around....and maybe you could get back on track and become a reputable collection agency like times past. October 2008 This company is bogus. Bunch of crack heads and all the money goes into Jim's greedy pockets. He does not care how much we break the laws as long as we can get more money from what he calls the clients "dead beats". DON'T PAY THEM, THEY CAN'T SUE, WAIT FOR IT TO GO TO ANOTHER COLLECTION AGENCY IF YOU WANT TO PAY. PAY SOMEONE ELSE, NOT THEM!!

Recently, a crack head collector called a client who owed a large bill. He happened to be an attorney. The attorney said he was not going to pay and to sue him and hung up. (Of course, we don't sue because we can NEVER provide information that they owe the debt). Later on that day when the attorney was in court , the collector called the attorney's secretary and told her that the client said it was okay for her to give the collector a check by phone to take care of the debt. a settlement for $17,000.00 .. The attorney secretary got so scared of the lies and threats that she gave the crack head collector a check by phone for that amount. The collector than went to go "box" the money so everyone can clap for her. Jim congratulated her on a job well done. (He does not care how she got it and did not ask either!) Later on that day when the attorney found out what happened. He called the office and was pissed off! He is threatening to sue. He refused to pay and then the crack head goes and discloses his debt with his secretary!! In the state of NEW YORK. We are in TEXAS! We don't even sue! Jim got so worried he went to go to Woodlake Pub across the street to get hammered and then came back loaded up on alcohol and Ecstasy. Just plain Pathetic!..

They might be right that these posts will not close the company down. But these posts have put a big empty hole into Jim's pockets. The crack head office is going down slowly. Jim and the office is in big trouble. Keep it going! keep posting!!

October 2008 Jim: If these posts are so stupid; why is it that first thing you do every morning is go onto Bud Hibbs website. The reality of it is your company is not making money. Barely anyone is making budget and everyone hates collecting for a scum bag like you. You cheat people out of there bonus checks. He promotes female employees but they have to have sex with him first. Example: ********* *****- Head of payroll. She is stealing right under his nose, but he is too blinded by drug addicted ***** to even know or care. Maybe ***** is smart for doing that, but use the money to for other things. September 2008 GEORGE LAWRENCE HASN'T BEEN A PART OF THAT OFFICE FOR A LONG TIME...HE WAS ACTUALLY PRETTY COOL.. GEORGE WAS PROBABLY THE ONLY ATTY WHO DID THINGS THE LEGAL WAY. IT'S BEEN AT LEAST ABOUT A YEAR SINCE HE'S BEEN A PART OF WOOLLEY'S OPERATIONS.

September 2008 Here is something that I think is funny about the previous comment made here. Who ever made the comment below, please state your name on here. I know for a fact you wouldn't because your most likely Jim. We all know you go in your office and shut the door and pull up Bud Hibbs. There is no one, in either of the offices, that would make a comment like the one below other than Jim. Unless he went real desperate and asked someone in the office to do it, which would be even worse. Unfortunately, I am not in the unemployment line, sometimes I wish I would be but Jim cannot afford to fire another person at the moment. Which is fine because I can take my time and look for another job. I think everyone is fully aware that comments made here are not going to shut down a company. But most of everything I've read here is true except for a couple of things and a couple of people's opinions. September 2008 I didn't know so many EMPLOYEES are spreading their two cents about our work place...so where can I start.. First off, you should see the work environment. If I could post a picture of our office here, you could see the missing ceiling covers we have, the empty cubicles (more than half aren't working), cheap posters hanging around, there's no more motivation in this office due to the horrible management. If Ol' Wooley spent more time finding a manager that would benefit the company and less time looking at what his employees are writing on here, he might have some people working for him that give a damn. No one cares about the offices NSF's or how were doing against other agencies. Who wants to make a bonus check when Jimmy doesn't pay people their bonuses...we've all see him do it to people.

September 2008 The latest update on this joke of a company. Big drunk jim woolley is getting sued for not paying his crack heads.....errrr.....collectors. They recently had five police come in there to arrest an employee for burning down his girlfriends apartment!!!! Richard Clark, aka, the drunken attorney, is currently having an affair with one of his employees. There are currently 3 full time drug dealers employed there and a few part time. All these emails are starting to get to Big Jim. I have heard it through the grapevine that he is accusing everyone and even made threats as to physical harm. He is too stupid to figure anything out so I am not to worried. His main issue is he screws EVERYONE over so I could be anyone. I am going to start updating the world periodically on what they are up to. I still talk to the secretaries there and they tell me everything. August 2008 Jim takes advantage of everyone. It's his nature. He's the perfect storm of greed and inhumanity. He is a drunk who is in desperate need of "DEBTORS" money to pay off all his lawsuits from collectors breaking the laws. Keep it going people. Ricky Clark is also a drunk. I mean - have you seen him! August 2008 Donnie is is a grown 40 year old who has no car, owes back child support and has nothing to his name but a fake country accent he uses to manipulate people into paying him so he can pocket his bonus money. Do not return his call. He is only looking for victims who will pay him. He uses scare tactics to manipulate people into paying. Saying file suit, judgments, garnishments, court claim in your county. Do not fall for it. Take your chances and see if it comes true! Most likely nothing will happen. If you do want to pay your bad credit card debt, DON'T PAY HIM!!! ! As a matter of fact, Donnie is in jail right now for aggravated assault. When he gets out in a couple of weeks, of course; he will be back on the phones calling innocent people trying to scare and manipulate them into paying thousands of dollars. Why is he working for this law office?? We all get scared when we hear his message that we want or need to call back to resolve the matter or tell our side of the story regarding a claim being sent to the county near us?? Don't believe him!! The owner doesn't care what he says as long as he is getting the money and there is not a lawsuit. Set him up. Next time he calls you, save the message he left on the recorder. call him back, record the conversation, and the sue the company for hiring him and making fake threats of garnishments and what not. I guarantee you if everyone does it, it will put a stop to his manipulating scare tactics just to collect.

Licensed to practice law ONLY in the state of Texas. After very limited research I believe the is no Gunn. Gunn and Clark are a reorganization of "Streeter" ? On a personal note Gunn & Clark Law Offices contacted an employee of mine and stated, " If I did not return their call, I should be informed they were going to seize my residence in Michigan!" LOL Laughing Out Loud, they picked the wrong woman on the wrong day! When I returned the call 10:24am Eastern Standard Time, I enlightened them as to The Fair Debit Collection Act and their ability to practice law only in the State of Texas, a Mr. Tahe hung up on me. They refuse to send anything in writing. Since they can hang up on me and continue to leave prerecorded messages for me to contact their office, I went out and purchased a power dialer, God Bless their toll free line! Please get the word out about the bottom feeders!

July 2008 This is the office formally known as Gunn and Clark and before that the law offices of Sam Streeter (there was also 3 prior attorneys but no need to go back that far) I was recently terminated for not being a thief and for having morals. I felt it was time someone shined a flashlight on these cockroaches. Jim Wooley is indeed the owner and he is your basic redneck from Arkansas. He is not what you would call smart, but he is driven for success. Success being defined by how much money he can put in his OWN pocket at the expenses of everyone. Everyone meaning all his employees, the attorney's, and of course the "Debtors". Jim Wooley is an alcoholic who comes to work at least 3 times a week drunk. When drunk he verbally sexually abuses virtually every female employee. He has given "motivational" meetings while barely being able to speak much less motivate. Jim Wooley refuses to pay unemployment so rather than firing his employees he drops there pay to close to minimum wage to make them quit. He has a 401k plan for his employees that matches 0%.(impressive isn't it?) He lives a millionaire life style with numerous cars, numerous vacation houses and eats at a five star restaurant everyday. He laughs at the economy. "They more they owe, the more I make. Do you think I care about these people's problems?" He said during another motivational meeting he had. He is a very big guy and is very intimidating. I have seen him grab someone by his throat once when he was drunk after lunch. The work environment is something like Animal House meets Boiler Room. Speaking of Boiler Room, that is the carbon copy of which the law office of Richard Clark was founded. If you have never seen Boiler Room, go and rent it and you will get a good understanding of how a collection agency works. A gentleman who was the original GM was from Boston. His favorite movie was Boiler Room. He incorporated the concept into collections. They would hire a bunch of people who had no idea what they were doing, have them get people on the phone, and

Here are violations that they will ALWAYS break every time they call you....

1. they will not read the mini-maranda (this is an attempt to collect a debt. any information will be used for that purpose.
2. Giving a fake deadline before they meet with the client. (they never meet with the client. )
3. Anything that starts with "the attorney told me."....the attorney doesn't tell them anything.
4. call your neighbors when they have YOUR number. THIS IS ILLEGAL!!!!!!
5. Calling your relatives when they have YOUR number. THIS IS ILLEGAL!!!!!
6. Threaten Suit. The only ones they COULD sue are accounts in Texas and most do not get sued. If you are outside the state of Texas they cannot sue you and it is against the law to imply it.

Anyone of these violations are worthy of suit by you against them! If anything can come from my time there I hope it is to bring light to this place. It is truly evil. It needs to be made known that they OPENLY BREAK THE LAW WITH CONSTANT THREATS. EVERYONE GET A RECORDER AND JUST ASK THEM QUESTIONS.....THEY WILL BREAK THE LAW!!!!! NUMEROUS TIMES!!!! YOU CAN SUE THEM. DON'T BE ABUSED. Don't be the high five they give when they put your $5000 payment on the dry erase board in front of the whole office. the manager calls out the payment and everyone claps. Your $5000 is worth a round of applause. Think about that. Don't pay these guys a dime. They will take advantage of you. Jim Wooley takes advantage of everyone. It is his nature. It is what he is. He is a perfect storm of greed and inhumanity.

November 2007 I received a phone call from I believe his name is Michael Abner at this agency. He was very demanding and was trying to get me to give him my banking information over the phone to settle a debt that I have with a credit card company. After telling him that I was not giving him my banking information, I got the impression that he was trying to threaten me by stating that he has all my other information like driver's license, social security, etc. I believed what really upset him more with me was the fact that I let him know that I'm not that stupid to give him my personal information over the phone. I don't intend on sending him anything until he at least sends me confirmation or validation of my alleged debt. Also I will consult with my attorney.

October 2007 This "law firm" must somehow be in cahoots with the Sam Streeter bunch, both located in Houston, TX. I began receiving computer generated calls from Streeter back in June. I sent them a debt validation letter and received a response from Christina Grunthaner at their office which was addressed to someone with the same last name as mine but a differnt (though similar) first name. The middle initial was different as well. I was told they would forward the supporting documents once received from the original creditor (which was at a bank I had never even heard of). After over a month went by and I had not received anything, I sent Ms. Grunthaner a letter stating I was not who they were looking for and had never had an account at the bank the debt was with. Today I received a collection letter from the Richard Clark law firm, addressed to the same person as before, with the same bank & account number for the original creditor. So here I go again. This is the ninth collection agency I've been contacted by since April looking for someone who I happen to not be. These certified mail fees are adding up.

August 2007 Sam Streeter, the rude and not very bright principal of this firm, called to ask for a relatives phone number to collect a debt from another deceased in-law. I provided no information, confirmed the deceased was actually dead and informed him there was no estate, no money, nothing for him to collect. He told me he was not a debt collector and that I didn't know what was going on. I again stated there was nothing for him to collect and informed him that I did know who he was (having done research on Sam the scam due to previous phone calls. He told me he didn't need to be talking to me, which I confirmed and told him not to call again. He told me to terminate the call and hang up. Okay, you're the one who called looking for info. Why do I need to hang up? Of course, I figure he probably couldn't figure out how to terminate the call himself so he needed me to. I did state he was not to ever call my home again. If he does, I'll file a complaint with the TX Bar, the American Bar, and perhaps with you. What I want you to convey to your readership is that debts incurred by someone in your family cannot be collected from you when there is no estate, the debtor is deceased, and you did not co-sign for any loans or debt incurred.

August 8, 2007 When I was 16, I got approved for credit cards. I maxed them out. My dad paid on them for a long time, but the more he cleared, the more I would add to them. Eventually he tired and stopped paying them. This year I started receiving calls from these law firms who obtained my old written off accounts. A JCPenny card and one for WalMart. Since then I have consulted with a Consumer Credit Agency to help me pay some of my debts off. At that time I got I requested letters stating my account number, original lender, and amount owed. I had only received such a statement from Wilfred Briesemeister. Sam Streeter did not send me anything until about a month ago. Now I pay this Credit place a pretty penny to help me, and to add Streeter on would increase what I pay a month, and I cannot afford that right now, especially since I now have both my children to care for. So my account manager and I decided to wait until one of the debts is paid off, then we'll add Streeter on there. I informed them of this action today, to let them know I was not going to blow them off, and he told me if I did not come up with "x" amount of money they will see me in court. He was so rude, and I had to ask him "do you talk to everyone like this" and he replied "yes, you should see me at family reunions, my mom gets a kick out of it". What made me cry (yes I am a wimp and do get suckered often) was that he can talk to people like this. NO ONE deserves this kind of treatment. He did not like that fact that I can not pay them now. Well I literally have nothing to offer them except payment when I am able to add them on. Now I must say that the people from Wilfred Briesemeister is far worse. (Even this is edited by about 50%. Careful, Sam Streeter will sue you pretty quick.)
