March 2009  These kinds of companies need to be out of business. They called family relatives to reach me and never contacted me directly. Claiming I owed an amount of $..... (APEX Alarms) on the spot or face legal action. They tried to bully me into the payment, and made it seem like I had no options.I called APEX Alarms (reputable company-I think) and verified that I had a past due balance that could be paid and my account restored with service and all.

The Texas Attorney General says they are a scam, everyone should avoid them, WFAA TV in Dallas did a story on them. They generate a lot of lawsuits and consumer complaints. Keep sending complaints to the TEXAS Attorney General and the FTC, these slime balls need to be put in jail!

January 2009  We cancelled an alarm contract with ADT almost two years ago after our contract expired. We had purchased a new home and I was not satisfied with ADT. We sent them a certified letter have a receipt. They claim we told them to renew (duhh! we sold the house) then turned the account over to Anderson Crenshaw in Dallas. I have never dealt with such disgusting unprofessional slime in my life. We are preparing to file a lawsuit against them and owner Paul Thomas Backal, 1909 Tampico Drive, Plano, TX 75075 for the suffering he has caused us. Please warn your readers to stay away from ADT and Anderson, Crenshaw & Associates through the courts. They do not respond to normal business ethics are the most disgusting group of people we have ever dealt with.

We receive a lot of complaints on this organization and completely agree with you. May I also suggest that you contact the Texas Attorney General who has already fined these jerks for their outrageous behavior. Their Attorney Steven R. Dunn also works out of their Dallas office, his number is 214-692-5553. His Texas Bar Card is #06252250. Make him aware of their illegal activity so you can file ethics charges with the Texas Bar if necessary. I fail to understand why any alarm company uses these repeat violators of state and federal law. Anderson Crenshaw is a disease that needs to avoided by everyone.

November 2008   I got a security system a year and half ago. I got way behind in payments. Called the Alarm system and they said they sold my account no knowledge). I tried to make payment arrangements, they refused. I got a letter stating I had 10 days to make good on the balance. I called the 1-800 number and was told the account was with Anderson and Crenshaw. Remember I still have 10 days. When I called the 800 number I got Anderson and Crenshaw. The rep was rude told me to call back in 10 days (this would have put me in collections) He calls my home and tells me has the account. I said needed to make payment arrangements and he told me NO! I said I had 10 days and he said they changed their minds and I would pay the back balance of 333.00,plus300.00 for collections and the balance for the alarm system of 1500.00. I asked to make arrangements he the least they would take was 250.00 I told him I couldn't pay that and he said he would take me to court and sue me and put a lien on my house because the alarm system was an upgrade to my home. The system didn't even work.

2007  We signed up for a Protect America alarm system for two years. I made first and last months payment, along with 6 other payments on this account. I have the contract and it never stipulates me paying for the actual alarm. All of that was "free". At most, I would owe 29.95 for about 15 months. Anderson Crenshaw has bought this debt and are charging that I owe 1,277. I have asked them to provide debt verification and that I would provide the contract that I still have.

They have not done so and will not go under a settlement of 800, which I still think is too high. with 6 other payments on this account.
