December 2008 They let almost the entire office go on the 1st except 2 office managers, a paralegal, an attorney and 3 original collectors. The ones let go had earned a bonus check but were told they were not getting the check even though we were employed and worked on the day the office closed. They kept the 3 collectors to clean up the mess David Goldberg and Bruce Bronson created. I have never ever in my years of working in the collections industry, worked for such 2 unscrupulous people or business. While they were out on their yachts or in their summer homes in the Hampton's trying to figure out how to make their pockets deeper, the collectors were working their butts off trying to collect as much money as they could. Getting screamed at to get on the phone, get more money, yelled at about getting up to go to the bathroom. it was ridiculous at how they treated us. But these 2 men need to understand that how you treat people is how you get treated in return and will come back on them tenfold. Karma's a bitch and it will come back to haunt these 2 at some point. It's unfortunate that this happened to a good group of people. For the most part, all of the employees were very loyal, but where was the loyalty in return? There was none. All Bruce Bronson and David Goldberg care about is money and that's sad. There were people that lived paycheck to paycheck that worked there. Single parents that were trying to raise their kids to the best of their ability. Not to many people get into collections because it's fun but because it can be good money and that's all that we were trying to do, is take care of our own and because these 2 idiots don't know anything about the legal operations of collections, we the employees have lost our jobs.
CSGA is the junk debt buying entity of Bronson & Migliaccio, of Williamsville, NY. If you find CSGA on your credit files, dispute it immediately as "not my account."
November 2008 Your readers would be interested in knowing that CGSA won't be around much longer. Bruce Bronson is pulling the plug, closing several offices. He can't buy any portfolio's is losing lots of $$. Almost all of the good collectors have jumped off hoping to find new jobs.
June 2008 I was reviewing my husbands county court records on line to make sure a speeding ticket payment had been posted. Upon looking him up on line I noticed there was a civil suit being brought against him and that he had supposedly been served the paperwork about 1 week prior to me looking on line. No one ever came and served him anything so it just happened to be lucky for us that I was looking on line that day...FIRST thing that makes you say, "hmmmmm". If I hadn't have found this on the county website, the 20 days would have elapsed and the courts probably would have ruled in their favor. So he called the courthouse to get a copy of the paperwork, it was a lawsuit being brought against him from CSGA, LLC As successor in interest to First USA Bank for the amount of $11,717 plus court costs, pre-judgment interest and attorney fees. The attorneys address is: Andrew Dinnerstein, Esquire Bronson & Migliaccio, LLP 500 East Broward Boulevard Ste 1620 Fort Lauderdale, FL 33394 1-800-834-4066. We pulled all three credit reports to try and figure out what this was about. There is one account on his credit report for First USA but it says the balance was zero, paid satisfactorily, credit line closed-consumer request. Second "hmmmmm" Attached to the court papers was a couple of card member Agreements for First USA Bank...but there was absolutely nothing that had his name on it, or signature saying he agreed to any account. Third "hmmmm" This is really irritating! I understand debt collectors are dirty, nasty, repulsive people who will do whatever to get a dime, but this is ridiculous. Having your credit report ruined by them is one thing but to have a lawsuit brought against you for no reason and hoping the judge doesn't have a bad day and rule in their favor really makes life difficult! I need to buy stock in Tylenol!!! The entire ordeal is VERY fishy....I just hope somehow we can get it all taken care of and can finally sleep at night!
April 2008 This debt collector is taking me to court in May 2008 to try to collect a debt I have never heard of before. They have called me constantly at home and work, refused to provide anything in writing proving who I owe or what I purchased, and have threatened me with prosecution to the "full extent of the law." Even since receiving a summons to court they are still hounding me. They have been told repeatedly to contact me by mail only but they keep calling. I can't afford an attorney, but intend to show up to fight them the best I can. Watch out for these crooks. They DO NOT play by the rules. I filed complaints with both the FTC and our state Consumers Affairs Department. HELP FROM ANYONE OUT THERE WHO HAS FOUGHT THIS GROUP AND WON WOULD BE DEEPLY APPRECIATED.
2007 I too was sued by CSGA, LLC under Attorney Elizabeth McLaughlin for a junk debt they purchased from Household Bank, or Americab Debt Sales, LLC, or Atlantic Credit & Finance, Inc. or CSGA, LLC, according to her paperwork. In her pleadings McLaughlin included a copy of a 'cardholders agreement' from Household Bank that contained a stamp reading "GENERIC." There were no documents in her filings that contained my signature, the affidavit was a joke, it contained three different names on it and Ms. McLaughlin declared in her pleadings that the Exhibit A, contained in her filings specifically contained the account number assigned to me. WHAT A LIAR!
My attorney told me she was lying on just about every statement she made and that nothing contained in her filing was even close to the truth. PLEASE warn your readers that CSGA, LLC and Texas Attorney Elizabeth McLaughlin are filing phony court cases with no truth whatsoever contained in their paperwork. We settled, she paid my attorney, CSGA, LLC agreed to remove it from my credit. I plan on bringing Attorney McLaughlin up on ethics charges with the Texas bar. My attorney told me her biggest joke was in stating that she and CSGA, LLC are NOT debt collectors, what a LIAR! Anyone with a little common sense can defeat her and the ridiculous cases she is filing, I suggest the use of an attorney so that she and her employer will have to pay your attorney fees and get it removed from your credit files. I also urge anyone sued by Texas Elizabeth McLaughlin to bring her up on ethics charges with the Texas State Bar. I'm not sure if being stupid is an ethics violation, but she certainly qualifies.
